Unpaid Leave for Caring Purposes. A Teacher, including a Casual Teacher, is entitled to take up to two days unpaid carer’s leave for each occasion that a member of the class of persons described in clause 18.3(a)(ii) required care or support due to: (i) a personal illness or injury, of the member; or (ii) an unexpected emergency affecting the member, or (iii) family and domestic violence.

(d) An Employer must not fail to re-engage a casual Principal because the Principal accessed the entitlements provided for in this clause. The rights of an Employer to engage or not to engage a casual Principal are otherwise not affected.

(c) An Employee’s entitlement to take unpaid personal/carer’s leave under this subclause is subject to the Employee meeting the notice requirements set out in subclause 18.4, and the evidence requirements set out in subclause 18.5. (d) An Employer must not fail to re-engage a casual Employee because the Employee accessed the entitlements provided for in this subclause. The rights of an Employer to engage or not to engage a casual Employee are otherwise not affected.

(ii) A Teacher cannot take unpaid Carer’s Leave under this subclause if the Teacher could instead take paid Personal/Carer’s Leave. (iii) A Teacher’s entitlement to take unpaid Carer’s Leave under this subclause is subject to the Teacher meeting the notice and evidence requirements set out in clauses 12.1(e) and (f). (iv) The School must not fail to re-engage a Casual Teacher because the Teacher accessed the entitlements provided for in this clause. The rights of the School to engage or not to engage a Casual Teacher are otherwise not affected.

The rights of the School to engage or not to engage a Casual Employee are otherwise not affected.
Unpaid Leave for Caring Purposes. 18.2.1 An additional two days of unpaid carer’s leave will be available for emergencies for employees who have used up their personal leave entitlement. 18.2.2 Unpaid carer’s leave may be taken in a single unbroken period of two days, or where the employer and employee agree, in separate periods i.e. four half days. 18.2.3 Unpaid carer’s leave will be conditional upon an employee not having any accumulated paid xxxxx’s leave or other authorised leave for carer’s leave purposes.
