Utility Employees. The term “ utility employ­ ees” shall apply to employees who wax, shine, buff, or other­ wise polish vehicles or who spray or otherwise apply under­ coating to vehicles, occasionally drive vehicles for purpose of receipt and delivery, assist toward building maintenance or perform other semi-skilled tasks necessary to the DEAL­ ER’S operation. S e c . 4. Any of the above classifications may be required to shovel snow.
Utility Employees. During Model Change start-up, two (2) Utility employees per Supervisor's group, per their respective shift, from among those who serviced a Supervisor's group at the time the Model Change layoff commenced, may be recalled in seniority to assist in startup readiness issues on the required shift for a period of ten (10) working days. If more than two (2) Utility employees per Supervisor's group per shift are needed, an agreed upon method will be reached by Management, the Area Chairperson and the respective District Committeeperson(s).

Utility Employees. 10.7 When an opening occurs for full time employees, part time employees shall be given the first opportunity to fill such openings, provided they have the ability to perform the work. Part time employees will not accrue seniority over a full time employee, but will have seniority as far as other part time employees are concerned. Seniority will not apply to the scheduling of hours of work of part time employees, except as provided herein. No part time employee shall have his hours reduced in an effort to discriminate against said part time employee. Seniority in regard to all matters other than lay­ off, rehire, or reduction in hours shall be limited to each seniority group (1) full time grocery employees (2) part time grocery employees (3) utility employees as provided for herein. 10.8 Full time employees shall be any employee who works twenty-four (24) hours or more per week. Part time employees shall be any employee who works less than twenty-four (24) hours per week. Utility employees shall be em­ ployees who perform only those duties as described in 10.9. 10.9 The duties of Utility employees shall be limited to sorting, bagging and packaging sold merchandise- carrying and loading sold merchandise; sweep­ ing floors; cleaning the parking lot and other adjacent areas outside the store; returning shopping carts to the store; cleaning areas around the check out lanes- cleaning rest rooms; collecting and sorting bottles- disposing of trash and rubbish; hanging of window signs and washing of store windows; and work less than twenty-four (24) hours per week. 10.10 Full time employees shall be paid the appropriate full time rate for their length of service inclusive of past comparable service. Part time employees shall be paid the appropriate part time rate for their length of service, inclusive of past comparable service. Should a part time em­ ployee work twenty-four (24) hours or more in any week, they shall be paid the starting full time rate for all hours worked that week. Should a Utility Employee work twenty-four (24) hours or more any week, they shall be paid the part time rate based on their length of service by hours according to the part time schedule, for all hours worked that week. 10.11 Ndw employees whose seniority has been terminated in accordance with /, < j Section 10712 shall obtaTrT'senjority after thirty (30) days from the date of employment, at which time their seniority shall take affect and date back to ? their last date of hire. 10.1...

Utility Employees. (1) Such employees are defined as full time employees who will be scheduled according to the needs of the business, but who are used primarily to replace absent employees (scheduled, unscheduled) and who, as the business requires, may be moved between operating shifts, in accordance to seniority, skills and ability. (2) The number of utility employees staffed in the business will vary in accordance to the needs of the business. (3) Utility employees do not have a weekly guarantee and periodically due to business requirements may need to be sent home. In such cases, volunteers are sent home first, thereafter part time employees and then utility employees, in reverse order of seniority. (4) Utility employees will be paid in accordance to Schedule “A” and if required to temporarily fill a higher rated job, he shall receive the higher rate for the time he actually performs the job. (5) The Company and Union agree that the number of utility employees will not exceed the ratio of one (1) utility employee for every sixteen (16) full time workers with a guarantee. The number of working employees in the plant without a guarantee (utility workers and part time employees) will not exceed 25% of the full time employees with a guarantee. For example, should the plant have 400 full time employees with a guarantee, then the Company cannot exceed a total of 100 utility and part time workers. Should the number exceed 25%, the Company will post the required number of jobs to get the number equal to or less than 25%. (6) Utility workers will be eligible for: (a) Daily overtime in the department to which they are working on the day overtime is required and in accordance to Article 7 of the collective agreement. (b) Weekend overtime which will be determined in the department where they work on the Friday prior to the weekend where overtime is required; for B and C shift employees, in the department where they work on the Thursday night prior to the weekend where overtime is required; and in accordance to Article 7 of the collective agreement. (c) Scheduling of vacation on the basis of being part of the utility group, between the three (3) shifts (A, B, C) and in accordance to Article 17 of the collective agreement.
