SHORT TERM SICKNESS PLAN. ENTITLEMENT
SHORT TERM SICKNESS PLAN. CAD 6.01 Cadets who work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week shall earn attendance credits of one and one quarter (1 1/4) days for each calendar month of full attendance. Attendance credits shall be used for protection purposes only in the event that an employee is unable to attend to his or her official duties by reason of injury or illness.
SHORT TERM SICKNESS PLAN. The short term disability program is intended for total disability from work due to illness or injury. Employees meeting this requirement shall not suffer any loss of regular pay for up to six (6) days in a calendar year when an employee is absent due to illness and would be otherwise scheduled to work. Employees shall be reimbursed for seventy-five percent (75%) of regular pay for up to an additional one hundred and twenty-four (124) days in a calendar year. Employees may choose to have one- quarter (¼) day deducted from vacation credits, if any, to top up sick leave from seventy-five percent (75%) to one hundred percent (100%) of regular pay. Payments under this provision are subject to such medical evidence, if any, as the Employer may require. When the Employer requests an employee to provide a sick note and/or medical information from a qualified physician or nurse practitioner it shall reimburse, with receipts, up to twenty-five dollars ($25.00), per document. Employees who fail to cooperate with the Employer and/or Medical Advisor may have payments delayed or denied.

CAD Notwithstanding other sections, the Commissioner or his or her designee may require a cadet to submit a medical certificate for a period of absence of less than five (5) days, The cost of the certificate requested shall be borne by the CAD Accumulated attendance credits may not be carried over by the cadet should he or she become a member.
SHORT TERM SICKNESS PLAN. 32.1 If an Employee cannot work because of illness or injury the Employee’s absence may be covered under the annual Short-Term Sickness Plan (STSP) which pays an Employee’s salary for up to 130 working days in total (whether or not continuous) for each calendar year. STSP is paid at 100% of an Employee’s salary for the first 6 working days of absence in a calendar year and 75% of salary for up to 124 working days of absence.
SHORT TERM SICKNESS PLAN. 4.1 The employee shall be entitled to full pay for the first 43.5 hours of absence due to sickness or injury and to the applicable percentage pursuant to Article 37, for the next 899 hours of absence due to sickness or injury, provided that there is an entitlement to pay under Article 37. An employee at less than full pay, may exercise their option under Article 37.7.1 of the Collective Agreement by using accumulated credits to maintain full pay, provided that there is an entitlement to pay under Article 37.

An employee not entitled to with pay under section of this Article until he has completed twenty (20) consecutive working days of employment. Where an employee is on a sick which commences in one calendar year and continues into the following calendar year, he is not entitled to with pay under section of this Article

An employee is not entitled to leave-of-absence with pay under Clause of this Article until has completed twenty (20) consecutive working days of employment. Where an employee is on sick leave-of-absence which commences in one (1) calendar year and continues into the following calendar year, is not entitled to leave-of-absence with pay under Clause of this Article for more than one hundred and thirty (130) working days in the two (2) years until has returned to work for twenty (20) consecutive working days.
