00 - UNION SECURITY. 10:01 It is agreed and understood by the Parties hereto that there shall be a compulsory check-off upon all Employees who come within the Unit to which this Agreement applies, and it shall continue during the period of this Contract.
10:02 The Employer agrees to deduct Union Dues from the earnings of each Employee in the amount certified by the Treasurer of the Union. Where Union dues are to be changed, as certified by the Treasurer of the Union, the Employer shall implement such change to be effective the second payroll period immediately following written notification.
10:03 The Employer agrees to deduct the amount of dues from each payroll period of each month and remit the amount of dues so deducted to the Treasurer of the Union no later than seven (7) calendar days after which the dues are deducted.
10:04 The Treasurer of the Employer when remitting the dues deducted to the designated Officer of the Union, shall include a statement clearly setting forth the names of the Employees from whom the dues were deducted, also showing any additions or deletions in staff. This statement will also indicate the status of the Employees by showing whether an Employee is Permanent, Part Time, Probationary, Temporary or Student.
10:05 No Contract, written or oral, shall be entered into between the Employer or any of its designated representatives, and Employees covered by this Agreement on matters relative to hours of work, wages, and working conditions, promotions, demotions, or any other conditions affecting the welfare of the Employees in general.
10:06 In April and October of each year, the Employer will forward electronically to the Section Chair and Secretary of the Local Union a list of all Employees including first and last name, current classification, employment status, home mailing address, and home phone number. In each year, the Union will receive an additional list of Employees upon written request.
10:07 The Employer will provide each new Employee with a copy of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and a Union orientation document to be provided by the Union. Such information will be provided within three (3) weeks of each new
00 - UNION SECURITY. 25.01 The Corporation agrees, during the term of this Agreement to deduct from the pay of all employees in the bargaining unit, an amount equal to the regular monthly dues, as certified by the Union, and to remit the same prior to the end of such month to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union, along with a list of names of employees from whose wages deductions have been made, the amounts so deducted and a total of all regular wages paid to bargaining unit employees exclusive of fringe benefits. 25.02 In consideration of the deduction and forwarding service by the Corporation, the Union agrees to indemnify and save the Corporation harmless against any claim or liability arising out of or resulting from the collection or forwarding of these dues.

Any employee who is a member of the Union on the date of coming into force of the collective agreement and any one who later becomes a member will have to, as a condition of maintaining his position, continue his membership in the Union for the duration of the collective agreement.

5.02 New employees shall make application for membership in the Union on cards supplied by the Union at the time of their hiring and will become and remain members of the Union in good standing as a condition of their employment, as soon as their probationary period has been served. The application card will be forwarded to the Union by the Company with the first dues payment.
5.03 The Company agrees to deduct from the first pay of an eligible employee each month, initiation fees and monthly dues and to remit the monies so deducted together with a list showing from whom and in what amount deductions were made, to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union on or before the 20th day of the same month. The Secretary-Treasurer of the Union shall notify the Company by letter of any change in the amount of initiation fees and dues and such notification shall be the Company's conclusive authority to make the deductions specified. Each January and July the Company shall deduct dues arrear payments from any employee in an amount specified by the Union.
