Annual Sick Leave Conversion a. Eligibility for participation on an annual basis is limited to employees who have accumulated 180 days of unused sick leave. To be eligible during the term of this agreement, an employee must have accumulated at least 180 days of unused sick leave as of the effective date of this agreement.
Annual Sick Leave Conversion. In November of each calendar year, a qualifying member may, at the member’s option, elect to convert for payment up to ten (10) hours of the member’s accrued but unused sick leave. A member electing such conversion shall submit a written request in November to the Board of Trustees or its designee specifying the number of accrued but unused sick leave hours to be converted, not to exceed ten (10) such hours. Requests for conversion received other than in November will be disregarded. All payments for converted sick leave hours will be based upon the member’s regular hourly rate as of November 1 of such calendar year. Payment for the converted hours will be made in December. A qualifying member is defined as a member who has an accumulated sick leave balance of at least 350 hours as of November 1 of the calendar year in which the request for payment is made.

Employees with a balance of at least nine hundred sixty (960) hours of sick leave may convert such leave to a cash payment on March 31 of each year on the following basis: 15 Years 72 hours of sick leave for 36 hours of cash payment 20 Years 100 hours of sick leave for 50 hours of cash payment

A member may convert up to an additional twenty-four (24) hours of accrued but unused sick leave to vacation leave, or to pay or the untaxed amount directed to a member’s HSA account provided that a member retains a balance of at least 300 hours of sick leave as of December 31 of the calendar year. A member must give notification to convert hours to the Auditor's Office by January 15 of the following year, with payment to be made by January 31 of the following year.

Annual Sick Leave Conversion. 1. New hires are those who were (i) not on contract for any part of the 2001-02 school year or (ii) who were not on leave under the professional agreement for the 2001- 02 school year.
2. Each school year, a teacher who was not a new hire, as defined in this section, could elect to convert any accrued unused days over 50 as of June 30 of that school year, but capped at 20 days per year, to their 457(b) account (at $67.50 per day).
3. Each school year, a teacher who was not a new hire, as defined in this section, could elect to convert any accrued unused days over 50 as of June 30 of that school year, but capped at 20 days per year, as compensation at $57.00 per day paid in July.
4. Each new hire, as defined in this Section, could elect to convert any unused days over 50 as of June 30 of that school year, but capped at 20 days per year to their 457(b) account at $60.00 per day.
5. Each new hire, as defined in this section, could elect to convert any accrued unused days over 50 as of June 30 of that school year, but capped at 20 days per year, as compensation at $51.00 per day paid in July.
6. Upon retirement from the School Corporation, the teacher may elect to donate up to twenty-five (25) days of unused sick leave to the sick bank.
7. Teachers on a temporary contract who are hired as a permanent teacher: 1) in the same school year; or 2) by the first teacher contract day of the school year immediately following the temporary contract, shall retain any unused sick days from their temporary contract.
Annual Sick Leave Conversion. Sick leave conversion is available at the rate of one (1) hour of base pay for every two (2) hours of unused sick leave credit (fifty percent (50%) rate). Employees must store up and maintain one hundred twenty (120) hours of earned sick leave before they are eligible for the conversion plan. At the end of each calendar year, those eligible have the option of converting to cash any unused sick leave earned in that year up to a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) hours. This means the employee converting one hundred twenty (120) hours would be paid for sixty (60) hours at their current hourly rate, but all one hundred twenty (120) hours would be considered to be used up. Only employees who have completed one (1) full year of employment with this Agency are eligible to participate in the annual conversion process.
Annual Sick Leave Conversion. A. A county employee may at his/her option, convert up to forty-eight (48) unused sick leave hours to personal leave days with pay on the basis of two for one (2 for 1) provided the employee maintains a balance of at least 240 hours of total accumulated sick leave. A maximum number of three (3) personal leave days may be obtained under this procedure each calendar year and these personal days shall be subject to the provisions of Section 4.9F of the County Personnel Manual regarding request for use of and accrual.
B. Conversion of sick leave under this policy shall eliminate those converted credits from the employee’s accrued balance.
C. For purposes of sick leave conversion, sick leave earned and accrued during employment with any other state or local government shall be excluded from the calculation of the employee’s sick leave balance.
