APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM a) Apprenticeship Training Programs will be in accordance with Supplements No. 4A and 4B, which are attached hereto and form part of this Agreement.
b) The Company will pay the apprentice, while attending training school, the following:
i) LIVING AWAY FROM HOME ALLOWANCE Twenty dollars ($20) per day to a maximum of one hundred dollars ($100) per week, for apprentices who are required to maintain a second residence while attending school.
APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM a) Apprenticeship Training Programs will be in accordance with Supplement No. 4, attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.
b) The Company will pay the apprentice, while attending training school, the following:
i) LIVING AWAY FROM HOME ALLOWANCE Forty dollars ($40) per day to maximum of two hundred eighty dollars ($280) per week, for apprentices who are required to maintain a second residence while attending school.
ii) TRAVEL ALLOWANCE Fifty cents ($0.50) per kilometer based on the distance for one (1) round trip to school per year. This distance will be as per a schedule based on the distance between town of employment and the school. If an employee is attending school outside of their community for more than 6 consecutive weeks he/she will qualify for a second return trip. COMMUTING ALLOWANCE, for apprentices who live at home and attend school. Fifty cents ($0.50) per kilometer if commuting greater than 30 kilometres each way from the school, minus the first 24 kilometres each way. Apprentices who are required to travel by ferry or air will be reimbursed for such fares, where such travel is the most reasonable or the only option available. The apprentice must receive prior approval for such travel.
APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM. Recognizing the need for an adequate supply of qualified Laborers, the Association and the Union mutually agree to actively promote and participate in a Joint- Training program designed to meet this need.
APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM. It is agreed that there shall be an apprenticeship training program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "B," which is attached hereto and forms part of this agreement. It is understood, however, that the grievance procedure as set forth in Section 23 - Adjustment of Complaints, shall not be applicable to those matters covered by the Apprenticeship and Tradesmen's Qualification Act which, by said act, are deemed to be outside the jurisdiction of the Union.
APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM. 20:01 The Employer and the Union agree that an Apprenticeship Training Program may be established by the Employer in accordance with the provisions of the Apprenticeship and Tradesmen's Qualification Xxx 0000.
20:02 An advisory committee shall be established encompassing not more than two (2) representatives from (a) The Office of Physical Plant, (b) The Plant Chairman of the Union and one person from the trade concerned and (c) The Department of Human Resources. The Committee will insure the rules and regulations concerning the procedures of the Apprenticeship Training Program are adhered to by all parties. Employees attending meetings within their working hours shall suffer no loss of wages.
20:03 When a position is established under the Apprenticeship Training Program the Employer shall notify the Union in writing and post notice of the position on all bulletin boards herein provided for, for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days. The Employer shall consider only the ability, knowledge and aptitude of the applicants to do the job in determining who if any is selected to the position. The Employer further agrees to consider an applicant‟s past experience for purposes of shortening the length of the apprenticeship if it is allowable under the Apprenticeship and Tradesmen's Qualification Xxx 0000.
20:04 A person working under the Apprenticeship Training Program shall be considered to be on probation for ninety (90) calendar days following his/her employment. At the conclusion of which he/she will be indentured as an Apprentice.
20:05 The Apprentice employee shall be paid a minimum wage rate during the periods of his/her apprenticeship calculated as a percentage of the wage rate prescribed for the trade as herein defined on Schedule "A": Such minimum percentages shall be as follows: Period 1 - 40% Period 2 - 50% Period 3 - 60% Period 4 - 70% Period 5 - 80%
20:06 Upon satisfactory completion of the probation period, the Apprentice will be granted seniority back to the date of hire in the Apprenticeship Classification.
APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM. Where an employee is on a bona fide Apprenticeship Training Program and is required to attend school as a prerequisite to that Program, the employee will receive the equivalent of ninety-five percent (95%) of their regular wages while attending school including any funds received from a government sponsored training program (exclusive of the living-away-from-home allowance).
APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM. The Board agrees to the implementation of an in-house Apprenticeship Training Program whereby all apprentices must enter into an agreement with the Board for the duration of the Program. Should the Board establish that a position(s) for an apprentice exists, the position shall be posted on all bulletin boards for a minimum of three (3) working days and the Board shall notify the Union in writing of the position(s) so that all members will be aware of such position(s).
