Association Activities Leave. The District agrees that up to three (3) teachers designated by the Association may, upon request, be granted a leave of absence for the duration of their term, without pay, for the purpose of engaging in Association activities, local, state, or national. a. Upon return from such leave, a teacher will be considered as if actively employed by the District during the leave, and will be placed on the salary schedule at the level the teacher would have achieved if the teacher had remained actively employed during the period of absence. b. When teachers indicate in writing, at the time of application for leave, that it is their desire, every reasonable effort will be made to return them to their vacated assignment. This provision applies only when leave is for up to one (1) full school year.
Association Activities Leave. 1. There is hereby granted to the Association a total of eight (8) personal days of unpaid leave, with such unpaid leave to be used by members designated by the Association as delegated to conferences or functions of
Association Activities Leave. The Association will be granted up to seven (7) paid teacher days per school year for sending delegates to conferences or meetings of NYSUT or National Education Association. The attendance will be based on the following criteria: 1. Written request to and subsequent approval of the Building Principal and the Superintendent of Schools at least ten (10) days prior to such conference or meeting. 2. All expenses will be the responsibility of the Association. 3. When days are approved in excess of seven (7) by the Building Principal and Superintendent of Schools, the district shall bill the Association for the cost of the substitute. The President of the Association or at his/her discretion, his/her representative, shall be released from his/her teaching duties with approval of the Building Principal and the Superintendent of Schools not to exceed a total of seven (7) days per school year to conduct Association business. 4. All participants in Association conferences or meetings will be appointed by the Association President.

  • Association Activities The parties agree employees shall have the right to form, join, and participate in the lawful activities of the Association for the purpose of representation in matters of employment relations. No employee shall be interfered with, restrained, coerced, or discriminated against because of the exercise of such rights.

  • Association Leave The Association shall be allowed to use up to 5 days of leave each school year for use by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association. The Association shall reimburse Unified School District 434 for the loss of use of the teacher taking such leave by paying the daily cost of a substitute teacher. The Association shall notify the Superintendent not less than 5 calendar days in advance of using such leave.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year. 2. The following provisions were not bargained and have been included for informational purposes only: a. Because of the many responsibilities imposed on the President of the Association, and in order to enhance the quality of instruction in the classes taught by him or her and maintain continuity, the Board will provide the building to which the President is assigned with a full-time aide who is also a certified substitute teacher. b. The building principal and the President will work out a mutually agreed upon schedule for the use of the aide. c. The presence of this aide will not be used to justify absences in excess of those authorized by the terms of this Agreement.

  • Association Business Leave A total of ten (10) days Association Business Leave shall be allowed by the district on condition that a competent qualified substitute employee is available and willing to serve. The designated representative of the Association and officers of the Association shall be allowed to take such leave for conducting Association Business or to attend state or local conferences. Substitutes hired by the District to cover such absences shall be paid for by the Association. At least five (5) normal business days advance notification of intent to take such leave shall be given to the Superintendent by the Association President.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part-time Nurses who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Nurses who are elected to the RNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Practical Nurses who are elected to the RPNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings.
