College Closure. During the non-holiday days which fall between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, Employees may use paid or unpaid leave in accordance with other sections of this contract.
College Closure. When the College declares an official closure of the College for Winter break and Spring Break, Support Staff will be paid to be off work during the closure. Support staff will be paid their normal rate of pay during the closure and will not be required to use their personal, vacation or unpaid leave for the time of the closure.
College Closure. Both parties agree that there are two (2) basic College closures, as determined by the College, and the parties will adhere to the following procedures:
College Closure. In the event of unusual circumstances resulting from extreme adverse weather, natural disaster, fire or other emergency beyond Management control, it may become necessary for Management to delay opening and/or close some or all College operations at one or more campuses, centers or other facilities.
College Closure. The College President or designee will make the decision regarding College operations. Notice of College’s operational status will be announced on the College website and through local media outlets. There are two (2) basic types of College closures. When the College is closed, the following procedures will be applied:
College Closure.
1. In the event that a College work site closes due to an emergency or weather conditions, employees will not be expected to report.
College Closure. Where the College declares an official closure due to an emergency or inclement weather, employees required to work during the closure shall be paid at the regular rate and receive equivalent time off at straight time, scheduled at a mutually agreeable time. Employees not required to work during the closure shall be paid according to their regular rates as though they were at work.
College Closure. When conditions require, the College President or designated representative may authorize a College Closure. During a College Closure:
1. Employees identified as Essential Personnel shall report for duty on campus when it is safe to do so, unless specifically directed not to by the College.
2. Non-Essential Personnel shall not report for duty on campus.
3. Essential Personnel who report for duty on campus will be paid their normal wages plus a premium equal to straight time wages for the actual hours worked. (Overtime provisions apply.) All other employees will be paid for the regularly scheduled workday.
4. Employees scheduled for vacation or sick leave will not have their vacation or sick leave charged. A College Closure may be announced after employees have already reported for duty on campus. In such an event, Essential Employees on duty on campus will be paid their normal wages plus a premium equal to straight time wages for the actual hours worked after the effective time of the College Closure. (Overtime provisions apply.) All other employees will be paid for the remainder of their regularly scheduled shift on that day, and will not be expected to work the remainder of their shift. Non-Essential Employees who work an alternative schedule and who are already working on campus when adverse conditions affect their workday should contact their supervisor to determine whether they should leave campus and whether they should work remotely if possible. In the event the employee is unable to reach their supervisor, the employee is to use their best judgment, and will suffer no loss of pay for regularly scheduled hours.
