Court or Jury Duty. An employee who is selected for jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness to give testimony related to their job duties as a Head Start employee shall receive his/her regular hourly rate for all hours missed on his/her regular work assignment, provided that the employee complies with the following requirements:
Court or Jury Duty. 14.9.1 Leave for court or jury duty will be granted by the Company in accordance with the Canada Labour Code. A Pilot called and serving on court or jury Duty shall retain and accrue seniority and service for all purposes during such absence.

Employees summoned for jury duty, but not selected must report back to the job site after release from the courts. Any witness fees or stipend received (except travel and meal allowances) must be returned to the Finance office.

Otherwise, an employee may leave one (1) hour prior to reporting time if within Xxxxx County or reasonable travel time if outside of Xxxxx County. An employee will be granted one (1) hour of travel time within Xxxxx County from the time dismissed to return to work and reasonable travel time if outside of Xxxxx County. If the employee is released within two (2) hours of the end of the normal workday, then the employee will not need to return to work that day.
Court or Jury Duty. An employee on jury duty or subpoenaed to appear as a witness in a case in court, unless a party to the matter at issue, shall be given paid leave. A copy of the order or subpoena may be requested by the College.

Court or Jury Duty. (a) Where an Employee is required to attend court, coroner‟s inquest or other tribunal, to give evidence on any matter or occurrence, or thing of which he/she has knowledge by reason of employment with the Employer he/she shall be entitled to receive normal pay, or such attendance fees as are awarded, whichever is the larger amount. Should he/she elect to receive normal pay, any attendance fees must be paid to the Employer with the exception of awarded expenses for travel, meals and lodging.

  • Witness or Jury Duty Employees called to serve on juries or to obey a subpoena shall receive their regular salaries during such periods, less the fees received for such service provided the employee returns to work if they are released from jury duty prior to 1:00 p.m. An employee serving on a jury will not be assigned to work on evenings or weekends during such jury service.

  • ARTICLE JURY DUTY (a) Where an employee is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or xxxxxxx's inquest in connection with a case arising from the employee's duties on the premises of the Employer on his regularly scheduled day off, the Employer will attempt to reschedule the employee's regular day off, it being understood that any rescheduling shall not result in the payment of any premium pay. Where the Employer is unable to reschedule the employee and, as a result, he is required to attend on a regular day off he shall be paid for all hours actually spent at such hearing at his regular straight time hourly rate. It is agreed if this occurs on the employee's scheduled working day the employee will be paid as above. An employee required to serve jury duty shall be paid the difference between what he would have earned for his scheduled hours, (without taking into account any shift premium or the like) and the fees received pursuant to the performance of jury duty. This will be affected by the employee signing over his jury fees less expense money received from the authorities for meals and lodging and the Employer will continue the regular salary payments. The employee is to notify his supervisor as soon as possible after receipt of notice of selection for jury duty. The employee will come to work during those regularly scheduled hours that he is not required to attend at court.

  • Jury or Court Witness Duty The Employer shall grant leave of absence without loss of seniority to an employee who is called as a juror or witness in any court. The Employer shall pay such an employee the difference between the normal earnings and the payment received for jury service or court witness, excluding payment for travelling, meals, or other expenses. The employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received.

  • Paid Jury or Court Witness Duty Leave The Employer shall grant leave of absence without loss of seniority to an Employee who serves as a juror or witness in any court. The Employer shall pay such an Employee the difference between normal earnings and the payment received for jury service or court witness, excluding payment for traveling, meals or other expenses. The Employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received. Time spent by an Employee required to serve as a court witness in any matter arising out of her employment, shall be considered as time worked at the appropriate rate of pay.

  • Jury Duty/Subpoena A. An employee shall be allowed such time off without loss of compensation as is required in connection with mandatory jury duty. If payment is made for such time off, the employee is required to remit to the State jury fees received. When night jury service is required of an employee, the employee shall be allowed time off without loss of compensation for such portion of the required time that coincides with the employee's normal work schedule. This includes any necessary travel time.

  • Jury Duty/Court Leave 1. Any employee who is absent due to a court appearance to testify on behalf of the school or who is subpoenaed to testify because of an incident which arose out of the employee’s being a witness to events at school, shall be granted paid professional leave upon the employee submitting to the Administration a copy of the subpoena as verification for the leave.

  • Court Duty Section 1. After due notice to the EMPLOYER, employees subpoenaed to serve as a witness in cases arising from or during the performance of their official duties, or called and selected for jury duty, shall be allowed their regular compensation at their current base pay rate for the period the court duty requires their absence from work duty, plus any expenses paid by the court. Such employees, so compensated, shall not be eligible to retain jury duty pay or witness fees and shall turn any such pay or fees received over to the EMPLOYER. If an employee is excused from jury duty prior to the end of his/her work shift, he/she shall return to work as directed by the EMPLOYER or make arrangement for a leave of absence.

  • CHOICE OF LAW & FORUM The state courts of Wisconsin shall be the sole forum for all disputes arising of this Contract. The validity, construction, enforcement and effect of this Contract shall be governed solely by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.
