Credit Courses. Employees who have a regular appointment may register in University-College courses, at no cost, provided that no fee-paying student is displaced. Such registration will be subject to admission requirements and enrolment procedures which will be set from time to time by the Registrar.

Credit Courses a. A teacher completing a University credit course shall be paid a bonus at a rate of $63.00 per equivalent U.B.C. credit to a maximum of twelve (12) units of credit in any one school year upon the prior approval of the Superintendent. i. A full-year U.B.C. course lasts from September to April at three hours per week and equals six credits.

Credit Courses. Regular part-time unit members shall be allowed to enroll in credit courses without charge to a maximum of four (4) credit hours per academic year on a seat available basis. Seat availability shall be determined after the conclusion of registration (including late registration) and prior to the commencement of classes. Regular part-time unit members are not eligible for leave time as specified in Articles 8.7(a) and 8.7(b). Effective with the Spring 2011 semester, the college will provide free tuition for 4 credits a year for children of part-time ESPA members in lieu of the ESPA member not using their 4 credit entitlement. For purposes of the meaning of children under this provision, the term children means dependent children as defined by the Department of Education Title IV Financial Aid regulations.
Credit Courses. Tuition fees may be waived at the sole discretion of the Employer, for Employees taking job-related non-credit courses at Dalhousie University. Employees who fail or do not complete a course, forfeit entitlement to this waiver and must successfully complete a subsequent job-related non-credit course in order to qualify for reimbursement in that instance and in order to regain entitlement.

Credit Courses. 6.3.1 Only certified (brevet) teachers are eligible for funding. *E1 teachers in the vocational sector are permitted to apply to credit courses for their brevet. 6.3.2 Teachers are not required to apply for funding before taking a credit course. 6.3.3 Only credit courses from a MEQ accredited educational institution will be considered for funding. 6.3.4 Tuition for a successfully completed three credit course will be reimbursed to a maximum of 6.3.5 The deadline for submitting a request for course reimbursement is 6 months from the time the credits were granted. 6.3.6 A copy of the transcript and receipt (original or downloaded) must be signed, dated and attached to the appropriate form, and sent by internal mail to Pedagogical Services. 6.3.7 Teachers enrolled in an Educational related PhD program where no credits apply can submit transcript of satisfactory standing to be reimbursed to a maximum of $500.00 per semester.

Credit Courses a. Excluding temporary employees appointed for fixed terms of less than six (6) months, the employer agrees to waive tuition for up to nine (9) credit hours per semester for courses taken at Xxxxxx Valley Community College by eligible full-time bargaining unit employees provided the courses have a direct relationship to the employee’s current job or may lead to promotion within the employee’s classified promotional ladder, or are required or are elective courses needed to complete degree requirements for employees who have matriculated or are working toward matriculation in a specific degree program. Part-time bargaining unit employees shall be eligible in direct proportion to hours worked, e.g. eighteen and one-half (18 ½) hours per week yields eligibility for up to four (4) credit hours. Admission to courses under the tuition waiver program will be on a space available basis. b. For the purpose of taking courses on the tuition waiver plan as described in paragraph “1 a.” of this section, bargaining unit members may designate any portion of their lunch hour to occur at any time during the normal hours of work, not to exceed one full hour. This designation shall be made in writing to the employee’s immediate supervisor and will require the supervisor’s concurrence prior to administrative approval of waiver. Should a supervisor reject a desired hour based on office/service needs, such rejection shall not be subject to the grievance procedure. Restricted solely to the purpose described above, an employee may reduce the normal one-hour lunch to any proportion thereof. c. Upon submission of written notice by June 1 preceding the start of the fall semester classes and by October 1 preceding the start of spring semester classes, employees within the NIEU bargaining unit will, to a maximum of four (4) credit hours per semester, be able to take credit bearing courses at Xxxxxx Valley Community College during the normal work day and under the tuition waiver program if such courses are directly related to their job responsibilities and/or are required or elective courses needed to satisfy degree requirements, provided that such courses are not offered at times other than during the employees’ work day. Tuition waivers are available to part-time employees on a pro rata basis rounded to the nearest whole credit hour. For example, an employee regularly scheduled for ten (10) hours per week would be eligible for a waiver of two credit hours (10/37.5 = .2667 *9 = 2.4003)...

A Dependent is defined as: (i) an unmarried, fully dependent child less than 21 (twenty-one) years of age; (ii) an unmarried child that is over 21 (twenty-one) years but less than 26 (twenty-six) years of age attending an accredited educational institution on a full-time basis; (iii) an unmarried child, over 26 (twenty-six) years of age, but fully dependent on the Employee due to mental or physical infirmity. (b) Part-time Employees and their spouses and dependents are entitled to a tuition waiver of fifty percent (50%) for a credit course or courses they themselves take at Medicine Hat College, outside their working hours. (c) Sessional Employees and their spouses and dependents are entitled to a tuition waiver of fifty percent (50%) for a credit course or courses they themselves take at Medicine Hat College, outside their working hours.
