DELEGATES’ LEAVE. Section 1. Upon seven days written notice, the Superintendent may approve a leave of absence for attendance at NEA and/or MTA conferences and/or conventions, with pay, for such time as he deems reasonable for officers and delegates of the Association, not to exceed twelve (12)
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. Section 1 Upon fourteen (14) days written notice, the Superintendent may approve a leave of absence with or without pay for such time as the Superintendent deems reasonable for officers of the Association, not to exceed two (2) in number, as may be designated by the Association to attend Massachusetts Teachers' Association or National Education Association conferences, meetings, or conventions, including directors and other meetings of the MTA. The expense of such trips will be borne by the Association, the individual, the MTA or the NEA.
Section 2 Once each year, up to four (4) designees of the Association will be granted a leave of absence of one day without loss of pay to attend the MTA House of Delegates meeting, provided that at least one week’s notice of the names of such teachers is given in writing to the Superintendent.
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. Upon seven (7) days’ written notice, the superintendent may approve a leave of absence for such time as he/she deems reasonable for officers and/or members of the Association, not to exceed two (2) in number, as may be designated by the Association to attend Massachusetts Teachers Association or National Education Association conferences and/or conventions.
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. The employer must provide each delegate with up to 5 days of paid time during normal working hours each year to:
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. (a) Strait Link will provide Union delegates with paid leave of up to 10 days per annum (in addition to two days’ paid leave to attend the annual union delegates’ conference and attendance at enterprise agreement report back meetings) to attend Union delegates’ meetings, Union training or the annual Union delegates conference or other Union campaign activity which is consistent with this Agreement, provided that this commitment will not preclude the Union from exercising its organisational objectives in an appropriate manner.
(b) To ensure the smooth running of Strait Link operations, Union delegates will be released by Strait Link for paid leave on the following basis:
(i) for yards with 20 or fewer Transport Workers - 1 delegate; and (ii) for yards with more than 21 Transport Workers but fewer than 200 Transport Workers - 2 delegates.
(c) Prior to Strait Link agreeing to release a delegate, the Union will provide Strait Link with no fewer than 7 days’ notice in writing of such a request for the release of delegates.
(d) In addition to the leave referred to above, delegates will be able to take paid leave to represent Union members in proceedings before the FWC or similar tribunals provided that:
(i) the request for any leave is reasonable; and
(ii) Strait Link will only release a delegate if the proceedings relate to or affect a site at which the delegate works.
(e) Strait Link will not be required to release a delegate to attend more than 2 delegates’ meetings per quarter provided that delegates may attend up to 2 delegates meetings in addition to the annual delegates conference in the quarter in which such conferences are held.
(f) Delegates who take leave under this clause will be paid for each day of the leave at their Average Earnings.
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. (a) Team Global Express will provide Union delegates with paid leave of up to 2 days per annum to attend Union delegates’ meetings, Union training or information sessions conducted by the Union.
(b) Any requests for time off in accordance with clause 27.2
(a) will be subject to the Union or Delegate providing at least 14 days’ written notice of their intention to take leave and although all reasonable attempts will be taken to accommodate the leave, Team Global Express may decline the request for leave based on operational requirements.
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. 25.1 Each year the Employer shall permit nominated Union delegates to access up to a maximum cumulative total of 5 days paid leave which they may allocate between Delegates in proportions they deem fit (inclusive of two days paid leave to attend the annual union delegates conference and attendance at enterprise agreement report back meetings) to attend Union delegates meetings or training.
25.2 The Delegate or Union must provide as much notice of the requested leave and any details of the purpose for which it is being used to the Employer and as soon as reasonably practicable. The Employer may decline the leave on reasonable business grounds or if inadequate notice is given.
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. A combined total of 10 days paid at normal 8 hour rates for delegates and union leave shall apply under the terms of this Agreement. This may be divided between delegate representatives as they see fit but shall not exceed 10 days in total for all delegates or employees.
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. A written list of Union delegates and other representatives shall be furnished to the Director immediately after their designation and the Union shall notify the Director of any changes. Employees so designated shall be granted reasonable time off during working hours, at the discretion of the Director, to investigate, settle, and process grievances, and to participate Union contract negotiations.
DELEGATES’ LEAVE. Section 1. Section 2. The Committee agrees that a teacher designated by the Association may, upon request, and with the Committee’s approval, be granted a leave of absence for up to two (2) years without pay for the purpose of engaging in Association (local, state or national) activities. Upon return from such leave, a teacher will be considered as if he were actively employed by the Committee during the leave, and will be placed on the salary schedule at the level he would have achieved if he had not been absent.
Section 3. The Committee may, at its discretion, grant a leave of absence without pay or increment to any teacher to campaign for, or serve in, a public office or for any other purpose the Committee deems appropriate under all existing circumstances, including the primary purposes of all concerned, i.e., the best education to the children of Xxxxxx and Dunstable.
