Union Training. Should the xxxxxxx and his union decide that the xxxxxxx needs training to properly carry out his new duties, the xxxxxxx may take leave without pay from his work to attend any relevant courses. The duration of the leave shall be negotiated by the parties, taking into account the particularities of the industry. The xxxxxxx shall obtain the employer’s prior authorization and such authorization shall never be refused without just cause.
Union Training. Conditional upon prior approval of the course content and upon receipt of certification of completion, if the employee is an elected official or xxxxxxx of the Union, the City shall reimburse the employee for up to one-half of his or her regular work time spent in such training at the employee's permanent rate of pay, not to exceed twenty (20) hours of paid leave in a calendar year.
Union Training. So long as a reasonable notice is provided, the Employer will not unreasonably deny a Union request for a leave of absence without pay to any unionized employee who is a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, to attend training sessions offered by the Union.
Union Training. ‌ The State agrees to release with pay all designated shop stewards and representatives for a bona fide training by the Union regarding labor relations with the State, for two (2) days per fiscal year, provided the absence does not cause a workload coverage issue. The stewards/representatives agree to provide their supervisors with fourteen (14) days’ notice of the date of the training.
Union Training. Each fiscal year elected officers and stewards may be released from work for no more than a fiscal year total of eight (8) hours to attend Union training sessions or attendance at conferences or conventions. The County shall release elected officers and stewards to attend such training sessions except they may be held on the job in the event of an emergency. The Union shall notify the County reasonably in advance of any such training.
Union Training. A. The use of official time for attending local union-sponsored training by Union Representatives is an appropriate matter for local level consideration. Union Training. Any officer/representative of the Union shall be granted time off with pay for one day a year to attend training classes to further the management-employee relations. The maximum time off for the total bargaining unit in any single calendar year shall be no more than the equivalent of three (3) person-days and all such time off shall be charged against the employee's accrued vacation or personal time.
Union Training. Officers, shop stewards, and any other elected representatives of Local 5 will be allowed up to five (5) days each of unpaid leave each calendar year for union business, conferences, seminars, conventions and training subject to giving reasonable advance notice and Employer's bona fide business requirements. These employees shall have no priority over other bargaining unit employees requesting time off from work for vacations, leaves, educational purposes connected with training or course work, etc.
Union Training. NOTE: an HSR may be entitled to any training in accordance with the OHS Act rather than, or in addition to, this clause. (a) Subject to the conditions in this subclause 74.9, Employees selected by the Union to attend training courses on industrial relations and/or health and safety will be entitled to a maximum of five dayspaid leave per calendar year per Employee. (b) Leave in excess of five days and up to ten days may be granted in a calendar year subject to the total leave being granted in that year and in the subsequent year not exceeding ten days. (c) The granting of leave will be subject to the Employer’s operational requirements. The granting of leave will not be unreasonably withheld. (d) Leave under this subclause is granted on the following conditions: (i) applications are accompanied by a statement from the Union advising that it has nominated the Employee or supports the application: (ii) the training is conducted by the Union, an association of unions or accredited training provider; and (iii) the application is made as early as practicable and not less than two (2) weeks before the training. (e) The Employee will be paid their ‘ordinary pay’ (as defined at 51 Annual Leave) for normal rostered hours (set out in Appendix 2), but excluding shift work, overtime and other allowances. (f) Leave in accordance with this clause may include necessary travelling time in normal hours immediately before or after the course. (g) Leave granted under this clause will count as service for all purposes of this Agreement. (h) Expenses associated with attendance at training courses, including fares, accommodation and meal costs are not the responsibility of the Employer.
