Donation of Sick Days. Teachers shall have the option of donating accumulated sick leave days to another teacher who is in an extended illness situation as the result of a severe or extraordinary illness or accident as provided in the Board's Sick Leave Sharing Policy and Oklahoma State Law.

Donation of Sick Days. Employees may donate up to ten (10) sick days from their sick day banks to another employee who is suffering from a serious medical condition and who is on an approved leave of absence, provided that the employee has the same or a lower base salary. An employee receiving a donation of sick days may not receive more than forty-five (45) days of sick leave in the aggregate from donor-employees and may only receive a donation once during his or her employment by the BOARD.
Donation of Sick Days. The parties agree to the following Donation of Days Program for Catastrophic Illness/Accident: An employee may voluntarily donate up to two (2) sick leave days to another employee who has expended his/her accumulated days in the case of catastrophic illness or accident. These days may be used to assist an employee who has expended his/her days and is unable to work as a result of personal injury or illness that is extraordinary, in that it is in the nature of a catastrophic or life-threatening matter. These days may not be used for non-catastrophic medical conditions, such as hip or knee replacement surgeries, recovery from a broken arm or leg, giving birth or recovering from giving birth, etc. The employee requesting days must supply a doctor’s verification of the catastrophic injury or illness. The Human Resources Leave Management Office shall make the determination as to whether the employee’s medical condition qualifies under this Donation of Days Program, whose decision shall be final. The maximum number of days an employee shall be eligible to receive under this Donation of Days Program is ten (30) days.
Donation of Sick Days. Each full-time teacher(s) shall have the right to donate up to two sick days per school year to another full-time teacher if the following conditions are met: 1) The receiving teacher must have exhausted all of his or her own sick time available. 2) The maximum number of sick leave days that a teacher may obtain by donation in a one year period is twenty (20). Once the maximum has been reached, no additional days may be received by the donation recipient for a period of one rolling calendar year from the conclusion of the donated sick leave. 3) There will be no obligation or authority to “return” unused days that are received by donation to the donor. Should the receiving teacher not use all donated days, the unused days will be forfeited at the end of the school year when donated. 4) Teachers will not be required or permitted to receive sick days by donation for purposes of applying for disability benefits or retirement from the Illinois Teachers Retirement System (TRS). 5) Sick days may be donated for sick leave as defined in this Section. It shall be the duty of the Association President to make a determination of whether a teacher is eligible to receive donated days, and to report said donation to the Superintendent, in writing, at least five (5) days prior to the commencement of use of donated sick days by the recipient teacher.
Donation of Sick Days. ● Should the number of days in the Sick Leave Pool at the end of the school year be less than five hundred and twenty (520) hours, the committee shall have a leave drive or require each member of the pool to donate one (1) full time equivalent day. Members will be able to donate their basic leave under Section 11.1.1 of the Agreement into the Sick Leave Pool during any leave drive. All donated hours will be deducted from the contributors’ accrued basic leave totals under Section 11.1.1 of the Agreement. A member may donate unlimited hours during a drive. ● A Leave Drive may occur at the discretion of the Sick Leave Committee. ● Upon retirement or separation from the District, any EPASS member whether they are currently a member of the Sick Leave Pool or not, may donate any unused sick leave to the Sick Leave Pool. This clause takes effect for retirements as of January 1, 2022 to be added to the Sick Leave Pool at its inception. This agreement will be reviewed during contract negotiations for the 2022-2024 contract, and is subject to recertification by both parties.

  • Donation of Sick Leave 8.10.1 On a case-by case basis and with mutual agreement between the Association and the District, any bargaining unit member may donate five (5) days (40 hours) of accumulated sick leave to another bargaining unit member who has suffered a long- term, non-industrial related illness or injury and who will exhaust all fully paid leaves. The employee suffering from such illness or designee must request, in writing, donations of sick leave from bargaining unit members only, through the Personnel Office. Requests shall be made prior to the exhaustion of all fully paid leave. Donation of sick leave will not be retroactive. 8.10.2 The Personnel Office will send out the notification of the request for donations of sick leave. The request will be sent for posting on all CUEA bulletin boards and the CUEA President notified of the request. All donations of sick leave will be voluntary with no personal solicitation of donors allowed. The names of any bargaining unit members donating sick leave under this provision will not be made public. 8.10.3 Only bargaining unit members who have a minimum of fifteen (15) days (120 hours) of accumulated sick leave remaining after donating five (5) days (40 hours) of sick leave under this provision will be permitted to participate in this program. Employees eligible to donate sick leave will do so on a District approved form and must submit that form to the Personnel Office. 8.10.4 The maximum amount of sick leave that may be donated to any one person requesting donations under this provision will be equivalent to sixty (60) days. 8.10.5 Donated sick leave will be utilized for the specified employee in the following manner: (A) donated sick leave will be assigned a usage number. The first donated sick leave received by the Personnel Office will be the first sick leave used by the beneficiary. As sick leave is used by the unit member requesting it, the leave time will be charge against the unit member donating the sick leave. (B) if the employee returns to work prior to using all donated days, unused sick leave will be returned to the bargaining unit member donating the sick leave. 8.10.6 Up to an additional twenty (20) days (160 hours) of donated time may be requested in writing to the Assistant Superintendent, Personnel Services by the affected member or his/her immediate family. In this case, Section 8.10.5 procedures will be put into effect. 8.10.7 When all paid leaves of absence have been exhausted, and the unit member is unable to return to work, in lieu of resigning the unit member may elect to do one of the following: take a personal leave without pay pursuant to Section 8.5 or Article VIII for not to exceed the remainder of the school year in which the leave occurs, or retire if eligible pursuant to the provisions of the State retirement system.

  • Verification of Sick Leave The appointing officer or designee to whom application for sick leave is made may make such independent investigation as to the necessity for sick leave as is deemed proper and may require certification for any period of sick leave, provided that the employee has been previously notified in writing that such certification for absence of less than five working days shall be required. The Human Resources Director may at any time make such independent investigation as may be deemed proper regarding the illness of any person on sick leave.

  • Accumulation of Sick Leave The unused portion of an Employee's sick leave shall accrue for her future benefit, up to a maximum of one hundred and thirty (130) days.

  • Rotation of Shifts Employees required to work rotating shifts (day, evening and night duty) shall be scheduled in such a way as to, as equitably as possible, assign the rotation equally. This does not preclude an Employee from being continuously assigned to an evening or night shift at the Employee’s request where such continuing assignment is acceptable to the Employer.

  • Extension of Sick Leave Unless an employee otherwise requests in writing, an employee who has used up her sick leave credits shall be granted advanced sick leave with pay for a period up to fifteen (15) days subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from any sick leave credits subsequently earned.

  • Transfer of Sick Leave Any teacher shall be entitled to transfer sick leave credit from 14 other Florida school districts with the restriction that at least one-half (1/2) of the valid 15 accrued leave shall be established in The School District of Xxx County, Florida.

  • Leave Without Pay for Relocation of Spouse At the request of an employee, leave without pay for a period of up to one (1) year shall be granted to an employee whose spouse is permanently relocated and up to five (5) years to an employee whose spouse is temporarily relocated.

  • Distributions on Account of Separation from Service If and to the extent required to comply with Section 409A, no payment or benefit required to be paid under this Agreement on account of termination of the Executive’s employment shall be made unless and until the Executive incurs a “separation from service” within the meaning of Section 409A.

  • Abuse of Sick Leave Misuse of leave, violation of orders, directives, or contractual requirements concerning the use of sick leave and other forms of leave used in lieu of sick leave are cause for disciplinary action.

  • Personal Holidays An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal holiday during each calendar year if the employee has been continuously employed by the State of Washington and/or the Employer for more than four (4) months. A. An employee who is scheduled to work less than six (6) continuous months over a period covering two (2) calendar years will receive only one (1) personal holiday during this period. B. The Employer will release the employee from work on the day selected as the personal holiday if: 1. The employee has given at least ten (10) calendar days' written notice to the supervisor. However, the supervisor has the discretion to allow a shorter notice period. 2. The number of employees choosing a specific day off allows an Employer to continue its work efficiently and not incur overtime. C. Personal holidays may not be carried over to the next calendar year except when an eligible employee’s request to take their personal holiday has been denied or canceled. The employee will attempt to reschedule their personal holiday during the balance of the calendar year. If the employee is unable to reschedule the day, it will be carried over to the next calendar year. D. Employers may adopt eligibility policies to determine which requests for particular dates will be granted if all requests cannot be granted. E. The pay for an employee’s personal holiday is equivalent to the employee’s work shift on the day selected for the personal holiday absence. F. Part or all of a personal holiday may be donated to another employee for shared leave as provided in RCW 41.04.
