Dues and COPE Deduction. The Union shall notify the District of updates, additions, and/or other changes in membership status on at least a monthly basis. Upon notification of an employee’s membership status or change in status in the Union and/or election to participation in the Union political program (COPE), the District shall deduct or stop deduction(s) accordingly.
Dues and COPE Deduction. During the term of this Agreement, the Employer shall deduct dues from the pay of each member of the Union who voluntarily executes a wage assignment authorization form. When filed with the Employer, the authorization form will be honored in accordance with its terms. Deductions will be transmitted to the Union by check made payable to its order each month. The Employer shall deduct the sum specified from the pay of each member of the Union who voluntarily executes a COPE wage assignment authorization form. The parties recognize that the Union is obligated under the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) to reimburse the Employer for its reasonable cost of administering the COPE check off in the parties’ Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Employer and the Union agree that one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of all amounts checked off is a reasonable amount to cover the Employer’s cost of administering this check off. Accordingly, the parties agree that the Employer will retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of all amounts deducted pursuant to the COPE check off provision in the parties’ Collective Bargaining Agreement to reimburse the Employer for its reasonable costs of administering the check off.

  • Dues Deductions 47. Dues deductions, once initiated, shall continue until the authorization is revoked in writing by the employee. For the administrative convenience of the City and the Association, an employee may only revoke a dues authorization by delivering the notice of revocation to the Controller during the two week period prior to the expiration of this Agreement.
