Education Incentive. A. The following monthly education incentive pay will be paid to each employee upon completing the listed degree and providing proof of completion to the Agency. Associate Degree Two percent (2%) Bachelor Degree Four percent (4%) B. The above percentages will be based upon the employee’s base rate of pay. C. An employee will be entitled to one (1) education incentive pay only. D. Degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher education.

Education Incentive. 1. Qualified unit employees shall receive educational incentive pay as follows: a. Each employee who obtains an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college with relevant courses in law enforcement shall receive a one hundred fifty ($150.00) per year stipend payable on the final pay period of June. b. Each employee who obtains a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with an emphasis in law enforcement shall receive a two hundred ($200.00) per year stipend payable on the final pay period of June. 2. Qualified unit employees shall receive POST incentive pay as follows: a. Each employee who has received a Nevada Advanced POST Certificate shall receive two hundred ($200.00) per year stipend payable on the final pay period in June. b. Each employee who has received a Nevada Supervisory POST Certificate shall receive two hundred fifty ($250.00) per year stipend payable on the final pay period in June.
Education Incentive. The County will reimburse each employee for the cost of registration and books for job-related class work which is part of the requirement for completion of a major for an Associates or Bachelor college degree which is directly related to the employee’s current County employment or if not in pursuit of a degree, classes directly related to the employee’s current County employment, provided all of the following conditions are met:

Degrees must be from an institution of higher education accredited by an organization recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation and/or the Department of Education; however, all employees receiving education incentive pay prior to July 1, 2009 shall continue to receive the pay.
Education Incentive. Effective July 1, 2015, employees who hold the following degrees shall receive compensation as outlined below: • Any employee in the Unit possessing an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university shall receive $23.09 per pay period in addition to his/her annual salary. • Any employee in the Unit possessing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university shall receive $46.16 per pay period in addition to his/her annual salary. • Any employee in the Unit possessing a Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university shall receive $56.43 per pay period in addition to his/her annual salary. As soon as an employee provides the Department with a copy of his/her degree from an accredited college or university, the employee will be entitled to this additional compensation on their next paycheck. The term accredited shall mean any accrediting entity that is recognized by the Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, and degrees obtained outside the U.S. if the applicant submits an original, certified, sealed report from an academic credential agency recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services, the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc., or the International Academic Credential Evaluators, Inc.

For each ten (10) hours of college credit earned by attending an accredited college or university, a non-probationary employee shall receive 1.5 cents/hour in addition to his/her base rate to a maximum of fifteen cents ($0.15) per hour. Section 22.2. Non-probationary employees shall be entitled to the following Education Incentive: Section 22.3. Incentive payments shall be for a calendar year, based upon showing proof of credit hours or degree from a recognized and accredited university or college, by November 1st in the prior year. Once approved, an employee shall not be required to resubmit proof, and the incentive shall be approved from year to year. In the event of a dispute as to the validity of a degree, or the accreditation of a college or university, the Mayor’s decision shall be final, subject only to a grievance that his/her decision is arbitrary or capricious. Section 22.4. Command officers will be permitted to trade shifts voluntarily so that one (1) or both may take college courses related to law enforcement upon two (2) weeks’ notice to the Captain of the shifts involved.

Education Incentive. Management will pay an education incentive bonus to those Employees who have earned a degree from an accredited college in accordance with the scale provided below: Amount Degree $300 Associate’s Degree $650 Bachelor’s Degree $1000 Post Graduate Degree The incentive pay bonuses shall be paid in the first pay period in November on an annual basis. The Employee shall submit proof of an earned degree if not already on file. Employees will receive the annual incentive for degrees obtained prior to their employment by the City. The incentive will only be paid to employees earning a degree after their hire by the City where the degree earned is in a field of study related to the employee’s bargaining unit work, as determined by the Chief. Upon earning a qualifying degree after their hire date, and in addition to the annual education incentive payment, the Employee shall receive a one-time lump sum payment of the corresponding annual incentive. This paragraph shall in no way apply to Section 19.05 (Tuition Reimbursement) of this Agreement.
Education Incentive. The EMPLOYEE shall be permitted to receive compensation, based on his/her future completion of approved college-level courses. Approved college-level courses shall be defined as follows: 1) Courses that are “job-specific” or a required part of a job-specific degree program (evidence of matriculation will be required). 2) The approval of credit for any specific course or courses will be granted by the SUPERVISOR. The request for approval must be made in writing in advance of course registration. Any approval request will not be considered authorized until said request has been endorsed by the SUPERVISOR. The original of the endorsed approval request will be placed in the EMPLOYEE’S personnel folder. 3) Compensation for completed courses will only be granted for courses where grades are earned in the range of A or B. 4) Credit compensation shall be as follows: a) Undergraduate courses: A one-time payment of 10% of the cost of course. b) Graduate courses: A one-time payment of 20% of the cost of course.
Education Incentive. The Employer agrees to provide employees hired prior to 1/1/1984 with an annual education bonus of $27.00 per month for each 24 approved semester hours (or equivalent).
