Education Bonus. 1. Deputy Sheriffs, Sergeants and Lieutenants who possess Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certificate(s) shall be compensated above the base hourly wage rate established in the Appendix as specified below: Deputy Sheriff Intermediate 5% Sheriff’s Sergeant Intermediate 5% Sheriff’s Lieutenant Intermediate & Advanced 5%
2. Deputy Sheriff-Detentions/Court Services (Class 5757), Sheriff’s Detention Lieutenant (Class 5767), Sergeant Detentions (Class 0000), Xxxxx Service Officer (Class 5783) and Corrections Deputy Sheriffs (Class 5786), who possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university and have four (4) years of service in Classes 5757, 5781, 5783, 5786 or any combination thereof, shall be compensated five percent (5%) above the base hourly wage rate established in the Appendix. Such employees becoming eligible for this bonus by receiving a college degree shall furnish satisfactory evidence that he/she possesses such degree.
Education Bonus. Permanent employees designated as DI or DM who possess, based on level of proficiency demonstrated by the acquisition of certificates issued by the California Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.), an Advanced P.O.S.T. certificate shall be compensated at seven and one-half percent (7½%) above the base hourly wage rate established for their designated classification in the Appendix. Effective June 26, 2015, this amount will increase from 7.5% to 8.5%. Effective June 24, 2016, this amount will increase from 8.5% to 9.5%.
Education Bonus. Employees who attain a Bachelor Degree (BA or BS) in a law enforcement/corrections related discipline will receive a one-time bonus of two thousand dollars ($2,000). Employees that attain an AA Degree in a law enforcement/corrections related discipline shall receive a one-time bonus of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.) Employees who attain a law enforcement/corrections certificate will receive a one-time bonus of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00).
Education Bonus. In order to further both the employee's individual interest in improving his or her professional development and education, and the public interest in improved operation of the plant and a more qualified workforce, the City will enact: Employees in the bargaining unit at the Division of Water Reclamation will receive an annual incentive, payable on November 30 of that year, as follows: For a wastewater operator license Class I, or collections license Class I, or laboratory license Class I: $150 For a wastewater operator license Class II, or collections license Class II or laboratory license Class II: $500 For a wastewater operator license Class III, or millwright journeyman's card, or laboratory license Class III: $1,000 For a Trades Mechanic journeyman status: $500 For an Electrician journeyman status: $500 For a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL): $500 These incentives are in addition to the City compensating employees for training, time off to take licensing tests, and paying the license fees. To be eligible to receive the incentive for the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), the employee must be willing and able to operate any vehicle that requires a CDL for operation at any time, as determined by management. Refusal to perform any work requiring a CDL within an employee’s job assignment will result in denial or loss of the incentive payment. Additionally, once a person reaches a specific license level, that person will only be compensated for that level achieved and for no combinations thereof.
Education Bonus. I. The following education bonuses shall apply to all employees who have submitted proof thereof to Management:
(a) Associate of Arts (AA) Degree or certification in the California Incident Command Certification System (CICCS) “qualified/red carded” at least at the ICS 300 level for one percent of regular pay.
(b) Bachelor’s Degree for two percent of regular pay.
(c) Master’s or Law Degree for three percent of regular pay. The above bonuses are not cumulative. An employee can receive only one bonus under (a), (b), or (c) above.
II. Each of the above bonuses is subject to the following requirements:
(a) The qualifying degree must be from an accredited college or university or “red carded” from the California State Fire Marshal’s Office.
(b) The effective date of this bonus shall be the beginning of the subsequent payroll period following proof of the degree or certification submitted to Management.
(c) Employees must successfully complete continuing education of three courses pre-approved by Management by June 1 of each fiscal year in order to continue to receive this bonus. Should the employee fail to meet this requirement, the bonus shall cease July 1, until such time as he/she has submitted proof of having completed the required number of courses for a subsequent fiscal year. Coursework completed in conjunction with obtaining a degree shall not count toward this continuing education requirement.
(d) To be eligible for this bonus, the degree or certification must be in one of the following approved fields: Business Administration Computer Science Economics Public Administration Soil Science Finance Fire Administration Physics Marketing Fire Science Psychology Law Chemistry Labor Relations Management Nursing Communications Political Science Engineering Conflict Resolution Art Health Sciences Administrative Justice History Mathematics Biology/Physiology/Anatomy Vocational Technology (for AA degrees only) CICCS The Department and Association may add additional areas of discipline to the list of approved fields upon mutual agreement.
Education Bonus. 1. The City will pay an incentive bonus of $350.00 to any bargaining unit member with EMT certification.
2. The City will pay an incentive bonus of $350.00 to any bargaining unit member with a Fire Inspector or Fire Official certification.
3. The City will pay an incentive bonus of $350.00 to any bargaining unit member with a Paramedic certification.
Education Bonus. Effective January 1, 2018, eligible employees shall receive an annual education bonus for having received a college degree from an accredited institution in a course of study that the Director of Public Safety deems is related to fire or emergency medical service. This payment shall be: (a) five hundred dollars ($500.00) for an Associate’s Degree; (b) one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for a Bachelor’s Degree; or (c) one thousand and five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) for a Master’s Degree provided that only one payment (the highest degree obtained) shall be made per employee regardless of the number of degrees the employee may attain.

Education Bonus. Unit members who possess an Associates degree from an accredited college shall be entitled to $500 per year in addition to their base salary. Unit members who possess a Bachelors degree from an accredited college shall be entitled to $750 per year in addition to their base salary. Unit members who possess a Masters degree from an accredited graduate program shall be entitled to $1,000 per year in addition to their base salary. Each unit member is entitled to one such differential (for example, an employee who possesses two Bachelors degrees cannot receive more than one $750 payment; similarly, a unit member who possesses both a Bachelors and a Masters degree will only receive a $1,000 payment). Educational bonus payments shall be paid equal installments through all regular pay periods.
