Extended Vacation. 14.06.01 Employees will have the ability to take one (1) or a maximum of two (2) weeks extended vacation each year by utilizing the appropriate number of hours from their overtime bank for this purpose. For this purpose, a week shall mean forty (40) hours in the case of a full time employee or thirty-two
Extended Vacation. With the permission of the employee’s supervisor at the time that vacation schedules are being prepared for the current year, an employee may defer their entitlement or a part thereof to use with their vacation entitlement the following year for an extended vacation. Such a request shall not be unreasonably denied. The extended vacation is limited to two (2) years' entitlement and any one year's entitlement or part thereof, must, if deferred, be used in the following year with the latter year's entitlement.
(a) If during an employee's vacation, there should occur a serious illness or accident requiring hospitalization or confinement to bed for a period of five (5) days or more, and which is verified by a medical certificate, then sick leave may be substituted for vacation.
(b) Where an employee’s scheduled vacation is interrupted due to bereavement, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 12.06.
(c) The portion of the employee’s vacation which is deemed to be sick leave or bereavement leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee’s vacation credits.
(d) Should a paid holiday occur during an employee's vacation period, they shall receive an equivalent day off with pay at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and the supervisor.
(e) Where a staff member has taken an unpaid leave of absence (not including pregnancy, adoption or parental leave) for a period or periods exceeding one (1) month, vacation entitlement shall be pro-rated for the period or periods actually worked.
Extended Vacation. 15.03.01 Employees will have the ability to take one
(1) or a maximum of two (2) weeks extended vacation each year by requesting a short Leave of Absence without pay.
15.03.02 Employees wishing to take extended vacation must notify the Company by December 1st prior to the year in which the extended vacation is to be taken.
15.03.03 Extended vacation will be approved only after all the annual vacation entitlements have been bid.
Extended Vacation. An employee on application to the Board's Superintendent of Education, Human Resources or designate shall be granted leave of absence without pay for up to three (3) weeks to be taken in conjunction with the employee's annual vacation provided:
Extended Vacation. Educational or personal leave provided such requests are submitted thirty (30) days in advance, or otherwise mutually agreed upon between the Employer and Employee. Requests for educational or personal leave shall be responded to within ten (10) days of the request.
Extended Vacation. (b) Employees taking extended vacation must notify the Employer of their election by September 15th prior to the year in which the extended vacation is to be taken;
(c) Employees selecting this option must have the necessary hours in the overtime bank at the time the selection is made. These hours will be removed from the overtime bank at the time the election is made and set aside for this purpose;
(d) Extended vacation will be bid after all regular vacation entitlement and selection is made.

Part time employees will have the option to allocate additional hours equal to the hours bid on their shift to ensure their pay remains whole during their extended vacation period.

Part time employees will be required to have thirty-two (32) hours for each week. These hours will be frozen at the time the election is made and set aside for this purpose.
14.06.04 Extended vacation will be bid in accordance with Article 14.03.03, but only after all the annual vacation entitlements have been bid.

Employees taking extended vacation must notify the Employer of their election by September 1st prior to the year in which the extended vacation is to be taken. Part time employees will be required to have fifteen hours for each week. These hours will be frozen at the time the election is made and set aside for this purpose. Extended vacation will be bid in accordance with Article but as a second round.
