Filling of Job Openings. Whenever there is a Union job opening to be filled on a regular assignment basis, notice of such opening will be posted on bulletin boards and emailed for all County Union employees to see for a period of one seven (7) calendar days to provide employees the opportunity to apply for the job. Employee applicants who possess the minimum qualifications for a posted position shall be interviewed for it. At the end of the application process, an internal candidate who, in the judgment of management, is equally qualified as external candidates shall be offered the position. The sole exception to this shall be when the top candidates are equally qualified and one (or more) of them qualify as a Veteran or disabled Veteran under Oregon’s Veterans Preference in Public Employment Act. In that event, the Act requires offering the position to a Veteran or Disabled Veteran. (ORS 408.230(4))

Filling of Job Openings. Whenever there is a job opening for other than an entry level position, notice of job announcements and job descriptions of such opening will be posted on the County website for a period of one week prior to filling the position to provide employees the opportunity to submit written application for that job. Recognizing the impact that promotional opportunities have upon employee morale, the County shall promote from within the ranks of current employees as follows: When in the supervisor's judgment relative qualifications, aptitude and ability to perform the work are equal between two or more applicants for the posted opening, the applicant with the most County service shall be offered the position. All applicants will be notified in writing of the results of the application process.
Filling of Job Openings. Whenever the County has a bargaining unit job opening to be filled, notice of such openings shall be posted in the department and on the Union bulletin boards, as required in Article 3, Section 10, for a period of one (1) week to provide employees an opportunity to apply for the job. First priority in filling such job openings will be given to qualified applicants from within the County’s employment unless the County determines in good faith and for reasons not arbitrary or capricious that a non-employee applicant is more qualified in significant aspects of the job, or in a particular job capability of substantial importance to the County. Filling of Job Openings. Whenever a department has a job opening within the bargaining unit to be filled, notice of such opening will be posted in each of the County’s major employment facilities (Courthouse, Annex A, , Road Department) for a period of one (1) week to provide employees the opportunity to bid on that job. Whenever a department has a job opening within the bargaining unit to be filled, notice of such opening will be concurrently posted both internally and externally (if appropriate); however, first consideration in filling job openings will be given to qualified County employees. Where, in the Department Head’s judgment, based on prior performance and experience of the employees and other relevant criteria, the relative qualifications and ability to perform the work are equal between two or more applicants for the posted opening, Departmental Seniority shall control. If Departmental Seniority is equal, County Seniority shall control. In the event the Union considers the Department Head’s selection to have been arbitrary or in bad faith, it may submit that question as a grievance for handling in accordance with the grievance procedure, commencing at STEP 2 thereof.

  • Filling of Positions All eligible employees under Section 3 who have made a timely interest bid, and meet the minimum qualifications, shall be given consideration and may be appointed to the opening prior to the consideration of other non-interest bidding applicants and prior to filling the vacancy through other means. The Appointing Authority shall not be arbitrary, capricious, or discriminatory and must have a legitimate business reason to reject all of the interest bidders. Seniority of the interest bidders shall not be a factor in appointing employees from among the interest bidders. All interest bidders shall be notified orally or in writing, which may include electronic mailing, as to the status (either under consideration, acceptance, or rejection) of their interest bid in a timely manner.   • Scheduling of Overtime In any case where no employee is available to work a shift or the extension of a shift at straight time, and the Employer thereupon determines that it is necessary to assign the work on an overtime basis, the following provisions will govern the assignment of the overtime.

  • Felling of trees The Authority shall assist the Concessionaire in obtaining the Applicable Permits for felling of trees to be identified by the Authority for this purpose if and only if such trees cause a material adverse effect on the construction, operation or maintenance of the Bus Terminal. The cost of such felling shall be borne by the Authority, and in the event of any delay in felling thereof for reasons beyond the control of the Concessionaire, it shall be excused for failure to perform any of its obligations hereunder if such failure is a direct consequence of delay in the felling of trees. For the avoidance of doubt, the Parties hereto agree that the felled trees shall be deemed to be owned by the Authority and shall be disposed in such manner and subject to such conditions as the Authority may in its sole discretion deem appropriate.
