Four Tens. When the ten-hour day option is used, then the eleventh and twelfth hours will be paid at time and one half. The fifth day will also be paid at time and one half. After twelve hours or five days the hours shall be paid at double time.
Four Tens. When the ten-hour day option is used, then all hours over ten hours in one day shall be paid at time and a half. Friday may be utilized as a make-up day; however, the employee may turn down working the make-up day.
Four Tens. In an effort to promote job efficiency and to promote versatility in the work hours during the work week the following shall apply: If mutually agreeable between both parties, the work week may be scheduled for ten (10) hour days from Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., without having to pay overtime. ALL work performed on Friday on that same project, shall be compensated for at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular hourly rate. The employee shall be at his working station at starting time and return to the main exit or ground floor at quitting time.
Four Tens. In lieu of the traditional five (5) day, eight (8) hour per day work week, the Employer, with the consent of the Union, which shall not be unreasonably withheld, may elect to work a four (4) day, ten (10) hour per day work week. The work week will commence on Monday unless otherwise agreed upon. The first two (2) hours worked in excess of ten (10) will be paid for at the rate of time plus one-half (1-1/2x) and all hours thereafter will be paid for at the rate of double time (2x). The first twelve (12) hours worked on Friday and Saturday will be paid for at the rate of time plus one-half (1-1/2x) and all hours thereafter will be paid for at the rate of double time (2x). All hours worked on Sundays and holidays will be paid for at the rate of double time (2x). It is the intention of this agreement to provide competitive opportunities for the industry without eroding the traditional five (5) day work week.
Four Tens. The workweek may, at the contractor’s option with notice to the Union, consist of a four-day, forty-hour week, Monday through Saturday, consisting of four ten-hour days with overtime rates applying on jobs of two (2) weeks or more duration. However, Saturday may only be used as a straight- time day if time has been lost during a workday due to inclement weather or conditions beyond the contractor’s control. No one is to be discriminated against for choosing not to work on Saturday. When working such a workweek, all hours worked in excess of ten (10) hours per day shall be paid at one and one- half times the hourly rate of pay. All hours worked in excess of forty hours after four workdays shall be paid on one and one-half times the hourly rate of pay and double time for Sundays and Holidays. If any craft to which the contractor is signatory, other than the Operating Engineers, is working on the job and receiving overtime pay, then the Laborer will receive overtime pay.
Four Tens. When working a four-day work week, the standard work day, shall consist of 10 hours work for 10 hours of pay at the straight time rate exclusive of an unpaid 1/2 hour meal period and regardless of the starting time.
Four Tens. (a) Notwithstanding the above, the Employer may, at their option, establish 10—hour shifts for a minimum of any four consecutive scheduled workdays, Monday through Friday, on some or all operations on a project, without being required to pay overtime. Anything over 10 hours shall be subject to the provisions above. Failure to work the 4— day minimum shall require overtime unless such failure is caused by actual inclement weather, holiday, or other conditions definitely beyond the control of the Employer.
(b) Four (4) ten (10) hour shifts at the straight time rate may be established Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. In the event a job is down due to weather conditions, equipment breakdown, or other conditions beyond the control of the Employer, then Friday on a Monday through Thursday schedule or Saturday on a Tuesday through Friday schedule on a voluntary basis may be worked as a MAKE-UP DAY at the STRAIGHT TIME RATE. In the event a Friday make-up day cannot be worked due to conditions beyond the control of the Employer, then Saturday on a voluntary basis may be worked as a make-up day at the straight time rate. Make—up day applies to the crew so affected. Make-up days shall not be used to make- up time lost due to a holiday. On work that is entirely Federally Funded the workweek shall be forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday. All work in excess of 40 hours in one week, or 10 hours in one day shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half (1. 5x). The Contractor shall not employ a second crew to circumvent overtime pay after 40 hours. This shall not prohibit the Employer and the Union from negotiating a "rolling” four ten hour shifts on a project-by-project or multi-shift basis.
Four Tens. A four day work week consisting of four (4) ten (10) hour days may be worked. The work day shall be between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The work week shall be Monday through Friday. The minimum that shall be worked to establish a four (4) day ten (10) hour work schedule shall be one week. The day off may be Monday through Friday due to holidays or weather related days. If working scheduled overtime the previous week, any time in excess of eight (8) hours per day, the holiday or rain out week will be paid at one and one-half (1½) times the straight time rate.
Four Tens. The District may establish a ten- (10) hour day, four- (4) day workweek upon concurrence of the majority of the bargaining unit members affected.
Four Tens. The Employer may upon notification to Local 56 at a pre-job conference, work four (4) ten hour days, Monday through Thursday at straight time. A fifth day, if worked, shall be at least eight (8) hours long. Hours in excess of forty (40) hours for the week will be paid at time plus one half the basic wage rate. Hours worked after twelve (12) hours a day, or worked on a Sunday or Holiday, shall be paid at the double time rate. In the event there is lost time due to inclement weather, then Fridays may be worked as a make-up day at the straight time rate. Any member laid off or transferred before fulfilling his 40 hour work week, will be paid under the regular shift language.
