Full-time Union Officers. The Employer will grant an employee a leave of absence without pay or benefits to work in an official full-time capacity for the Union, the Canadian Labour Congress or the Ontario Federation of Labour. During this time period, the employee will continue to accrue bargaining unit seniority and advance on the wage grid. Pension plan service shall only accrue if the Employer's contributions are paid by the labour organization. The employee must give the Employer one (1) month notice in writing of such a leave, or of an election that may lead to the need for such a leave and, if operational concerns require it, up to two (2) weeks more notice after the election. No more than one (1) employee may be absent on this leave at any one time.
Full-time Union Officers. An employee who has been elected or appointed to a full-time office of the Union shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the period during which he or she is elected or appointed to hold office.
Full-time Union Officers. Notwithstanding article 8.02, the Employer will grant an employee who has given the Employer one (1) month notice in writing a leave of absence without pay or benefits of up to one (1) year to work in an official Full Time capacity for the Union, the CLC or the OFL. Such a leave may be renewed for an additional one (1) year upon one (1) month written notice to the Employer. No more than one (1) employee may be absent on this leave at any one time. Continuous service shall continue to accrue during such leaves.
Full-time Union Officers. Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Society will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full time Union Office. It is understood that no more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of three (3) calendar years from the date of appointment, unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence. Service and seniority shall accrue while on such leave on the basis of the average of the service hours worked during the weeks preceding the commencement of the leave. For clarity, Article Vacations does not apply during the leave of absence.

Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Hospital will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year (in the case of the Union President, two calendar years) from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave to the maximum provided, if any, under the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence.
Full-time Union Officers. The Employer will grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee who is elected or appointed to a full time position of the Union within one month after notice is given to the Employer of such election or appointment. The duration of such leave shall be for the period the employee holds such office. An employee who returns to the bargaining unit after a period of leave without pay granted under this Article shall have the time spent on leave credited for purposes of seniority. Such an employee has the right to return to work in his or her classification and level, and the position where he or she was assigned prior to election or appointment, if practicable, and to the appropriate salary level in effect upon his or her return.
Full-time Union Officers. Notwithstanding Article
20.01 where an employee of the Company is elected or appointed to a full-time Union office the Company shall grant the employee a leave of absence without pay and benefits for the period during which he/she is elected or appointed to hold office. Upon expiry of the leave of absence the employee will be reinstated to their prior position provided it still exists and subject to the seniority provisions of the Collective Agreement.

On the completion of the leave of absence granted under this clause the employee may return to his employment in the same or as equivalent a post as can be arranged, with the seniority he had accrued at the commencement of the leave of absence, provided that the Union shall have first given the Hospital two months' notice of employee's return to his employment.
Full-time Union Officers. An employee who has been elected or appointed to a full-time office of the Union shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the period during which he or she is elected or appointed to hold Convention Delegates and Union Representatives Employees selected as delegates to conventions of the Union, or to other conferences or seminars of the Union, or as members of a bargaining committee or another committee of the Union or required to work on behalf of the Union, or selected as delegates to conventions of the Canadian Labour Congress or provincial federations of labour chartered by the Canadian Labour Congress, or other conferences or seminars, shall be granted unpaid leave of absence.
