Health Policies. To protect the health of teachers and students and to promote the continuity of instruction, the Board has adopted the following policies. 1. Following initial employment, teachers must show evidence of continued freedom from communicable disease in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of state and county health policies. Failure to submit such evidence in a timely manner may result in disciplinary action. 2. A teacher who has been absent five (5) consecutive workdays may be requested to present a doctor's statement upon return to work. In case of prolonged illness (over ten consecutive workdays), periodic statements from a doctor may be requested by the district. In addition, a pattern of absences may also require submission of a doctor's statement. 3. In order to provide for the medical examination of teachers who appear to have medical problems affecting their work, the Superintendent or designee may, at District expense, require a teacher to secure a medical examination from a doctor or doctors specified by the Superintendent or designee. Except in an emergency, the teacher involved and the president of the Association shall receive at least two (2) weeks' notice of any request for medical examination. Released time for such examination(s) shall be provided at no loss of pay or sick leave. In the event examination results conflict with the examination results of the teacher's own doctor, a third medical opinion may be sought under the above provision, upon mutual agreement between the teacher and the Superintendent or designee. 4. The Board shall annually review, and if necessary revise, its policies on blood borne pathogens, and will keep teachers advised of their related rights and responsibilities, including their entitlement to Hepatitis B immunization shots.

My child will have physical examinations and age-appropriate immunizations in accordance with the American Academy of Pediatric recommendations, which legally qualifies him/her to attend/continue in child care, 2. If my child becomes ill during the day, I will arrange for pick up within one hour. My child will only return if able to fully participate in the program, and according to The Haverford Center Illness Policy, 3. Medication will be administered to my child in accordance with the Center’s Medication Permission Policy, 4. The Haverford Center has permission to administer first aid to my child.

Health Policies. Before enrollment in Garden Ridge Preschool, each child is to have a physical examination and immunizations are to be up to date, per Washington State Recommendations. We require families to have an up-to-date health file and they are responsible for informing Garden Ridge Preschool of any updates such as allergies or dietary needs. Your child is to be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school. If placed on antibiotics, the child must be treated for a full 24 hours before returning to school. Children displaying the following symptoms should stay home or will be sent home from school: fevers of 100 degrees F (auxiliary) or higher vomiting diarrhea draining or infectious rashes weeping eyes (except in cases of known seasonal allergies-with note from doctor.) heavy mucus discharge If your child stays home due to illness, we ask that you notify us. Any child that displays these symptoms will be kept separate from the other children until they are picked up. In cases where a child contracts a communicable disease i.e. covid-19 chicken pox, hand foot and mouth, measles, lice, etc. or is exposed to one, we require that you notify us immediately. A child with a communicable disease must remain at home until they are no longer contagious. GRP may have to add additional procedures for COVID-19.

Health Policies. If your child is directly exposed to, or tests positive for, COVID-19, he/she cannot attend LPCC until the required quarantine period has elapsed. • If your child should become ill during the day he/she will be isolated until a parent or authorized person picks him/her up. Pickup must be immediate. Any child sent home for illness cannot attend LPCC for at least 72 hours. • We ask your cooperation in reporting any contagious condition to a staff member. You MUST immediately report exposure to COVID-19 by anyone in your household to a staff member. • You will be notified immediately if your child is injured and requires medical attention beyond basic first aid. A seriously ill or injured child will be taken to the nearest emergency medical facility. Every attempt will be made to contact a parent before the trip is made. • Please send a filled water bottle with your child's name on it every day. Refills can be made safely at the water dispensing station. The drinking fountains may be shutoff. • Please send a lunch and morning snack with your child each day. Children cannot share or trade lunches and snacks. We will provide a prepackaged snack in the afternoon. We cannot provide refrigeration for your child’s lunch, nor can we heat up your child’s lunch. • Please send a filled water bottle with your child's name on it every day. Refills can be made safely at the water dispensing station. The drinking fountains may be shutoff. • Please send SPRAY sunscreen with your child's name on it to be kept with your child's counselor. Our staff will assist in applying it to your child.
