HOLIDAYS (Part-Time and Casual. 16.01 An employee who is required to work on any of the following designated holidays will receive pay at the rate of time and one half (1½) the employee’s regular straight time hourly rate of pay for work performed on such holiday: New Year's Day Canada Day Family Day Civic Holiday Good Friday Labour Day Remembrance Day Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Boxing Day 16.02 In the event that the Provincial or Federal Government declares an additional holiday during the term of this Agreement, such holiday will be substituted for one of the above-mentioned holidays, after discussion with the Union. 16.03 It is understood that a regular part-time employee, casual employee or temporary employee shall not be entitled to holiday pay or any lieu days. 16.04 An employee may be scheduled to work on Christmas Day and Boxing Day of one year or New Year's Day of the next year, but not on both of these during the same holiday season unless the employee consents. If an employee has worked on Christmas Day or New Year's Day, the Employer shall make every effort not to schedule her for the same day the following year. If staffing available, the most senior staff can request to have both holidays off.

For clarity, it is understood that Christmas will include December 24 (from day shift), 25 and 26 and New Year’s will include December 31 (from day shift) and January 1. This provision will not apply to employees who normally work Monday to Friday and are not normally scheduled to work on holidays. Scheduling provisions (Articles 10.09 (b) and (d); 10.12 (b)), can be waived between December 15 and January 9.

  • Part-Time Nurse is a Nurse hired to a position to work on a regular or temporary basis that is less than the work period of a Full-Time Nurse.

  • Part-Time Teachers A "part-time teacher" is one who is employed under written contract but who is assigned to duties on a regular basis that requires less than a full-time equivalent. A part-time teacher shall be paid a salary in accordance with the basic salary schedule, proportionate to the percentage of the full-time equivalent taught each day as outlined in the written contract.

  • Overtime for Part-Time Employees ‌ (a) A part-time employee working less than the normal hours per day of a full-time employee, and who is required to work longer than their regular workday, shall be paid at the rate of straight-time for the hours so worked, up to and including the normal hours in the workday of a full-time employee. (b) A part-time employee working less than the normal days per week of a full-time employee, and who is required to work other than their regularly scheduled workdays, shall be paid at the rate of straight-time for the days so worked up to and including the normal workdays in the workweek of a full-time employee. (c) Overtime rates shall apply to hours worked in excess of (a) and (b) above.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Part-Time Employees Employees who are scheduled to work less than forty (40) hours per workweek.

  • Permanent Part-Time Employees (1) Pay and benefits will be computed on a prorated monthly or pay period basis, such as one-half (½) monthly or pay period pay for a half-time employee, or pay will be computed on an hourly basis, and pay and benefits will be normally prorated on a pay period, pay status basis. Permanent part-time employees in permanent full-time positions will be treated as permanent part-time for purposes of this Article. (2) Employees paid on a fixed partial monthly basis shall have all extra hours worked over the regular part-time schedule paid at the hourly rate. Employees paid on a fixed partial monthly basis who work less than the regular part-time schedule shall have time deducted at the hourly rate.

  • Part-Time A part-time employee is an employee who regularly works less than forty (40) hours per week. The Agency shall not use part-time employees to avoid full-time benefits.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.

  • PART-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Regular part time employees shall be provided the opportunity to purchase benefits of one of the plans described in Article XVII, Sections B and C at the Employer plan’s premium cost. The Employer will pay the Employer’s monthly share of the premium cost at a ratio proportionate to the employee’s part time condition of employment contingent upon receipt of the employee’s yearly share of the employee’s premium.
