HOLIDAYS TO BE OBSERVED ON WORKDAYS. In the event that January 1; February 12, known as “Xxxxxxx’s Birthday”; July 4; September 9, known as “Admission Day”; November 11, known as “Veterans’ Day”; or December 25 shall fall on a Saturday, said holiday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. In the event that any of said holidays enumerated in this subsection shall fall on a Sunday, said holiday shall be observed on the following Monday. A day proclaimed as a nation-wide or state-wide public holiday, day of fast, day of mourning, or day of thanksgiving and approved in writing by three or more members of the Board of Supervisors, shall be granted only to those employees who are regularly scheduled to work on the day for which such holiday is proclaimed. Effective January 1, 2003, in the event that January 1; February 12, known as “Xxxxxxx’s Birthday”; July 4; November 11, known as “Veterans’ Day”; or December 25 shall fall on a Saturday, said holiday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. In the event that any of said holidays enumerated in this subsection shall fall on a Sunday, said holiday shall be observed on the following Monday. HOLIDAYS TO BE OBSERVED ON WORKDAYS. In the event that any holiday listed above shall fall on a Saturday, for those officers working in Administration, such holiday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. In the event that any holiday listed above shall fall on a Sunday, for those officers working in Administration, such holiday shall be observed on the following Monday. Officers working patrol shall observe any holiday above on the stated day. In the event that any holiday listed above shall fall on a scheduled work day, for those officers working in Administration, those officers shall have the option of working the number of hours above the eight (8) holiday pay in order to account for a full work day, or shall have the option of using time from a leave bank in order to account for a full work day. Any hours worked in order to account for a full work day on the holiday will be paid at that officer’s straight time hourly rate. For instance, if an officer is scheduled to work a ten (10) hour shift on a holiday, that officer will have the option of working two (2) hours, or using two (2) hours from a leave bank.
HOLIDAYS TO BE OBSERVED ON WORKDAYS. In the event that New Year’s Day, Xxxxxxx’s Birthday, Independence Day, Veterans Day or Christmas Day shall fall on a Saturday, said holiday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. In the event those holidays listed shall fall on a Sunday, said holiday shall be observed on the following Monday. A day proclaimed as a nationwide or statewide public holiday, day of fast, day of mourning, or day of thanksgiving and approved in writing by three (3) or more members of the Board of Supervisors, shall be granted only to those employees who are regularly scheduled to work on the day for which such holiday is proclaimed.‌

A day proclaimed as a nationwide or statewide public holiday, day of fast, day of mourning, or day of thanksgiving and approved in writing by three (3) or more members of the Board of Supervisors, shall be granted only to those employees who are regularly scheduled to work on the day for which such holiday is proclaimed.‌ When December 25 (Christmas Day), January 1 (New Year’s Day), or July 4 (Independence Day) occur in the calendar year on a Saturday or Sunday and a weekend worker is scheduled on said day, the employee shall celebrate the Christmas Day holiday on December 25, the New Year's holiday on January 1 and Independence Day July 4th on the actual day rather than the County designated day of observance of the holiday.

In such cases the employee may, with Agency/Department approval, observe the holiday on the actual holiday rather than the observed holiday. Under no circumstances shall an employee receive holiday compensation for both the actual holiday (occurring on Saturday) and the observed holiday (occurring on the Friday immediately preceding). 3. Subsections 1 and 2 above will not be implemented unless the County implements the same holiday schedule for other recognized bargaining units (other than AOCDS).

  • Laws to be Observed A-E is assumed to be familiar with and, at all times, shall observe and comply with all federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations in any manner affecting the conduct of the Projects/Services.

  • Observed Holidays The following days shall be observed as paid holidays for all eligible employees:

  • Weekdays All work performed outside of the designated shift Monday through Friday shall be paid at time and one-half (1-1/2) the straight-time hourly wage rate.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.

  • Work on Fridays (a) This clause only applies in circumstances where clause 37.5 – Leisure Time Protected applies. (b) The Employer and Employees will endeavour to ensure that wherever possible and subject to operational requirements, normal productive work shall cease at the finish of ordinary hours on Fridays. (c) Operational requirements that would require productive work to continue past this time include, but are not limited to circumstances where such work will be able to continue if the work is necessary for the production schedule to be maintained or to ensure that other Employees can be productively employed. (d) Other circumstances where work will be able to continue include the following: to recover time lost due to excessive periods of inclement weather, matters not necessarily the fault of the employer which have led to the project being delayed or behind schedule, the requirement to meet the Principal’s work program and unexpected delays in the project due to scheduling of other works or supply of materials. Note 1: An Employee has the right to determine their representation (if any) in accordance with Part 7 – Employee Representation of this Agreement.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Vacations and Sick Leave The Executive shall be entitled to paid annual vacation leave in accordance with the policies as established from time to time by the Board of Directors, which shall in no event be less than four weeks per annum. The Executive shall also be entitled to an annual sick leave benefit as established by the Board for senior management employees of the Bank. The Executive shall not be entitled to receive any additional compensation from the Bank for failure to take a vacation or sick leave, nor shall he be able to accumulate unused vacation or sick leave from one year to the next; provided, however, such Executive may carry forward from year to year a maximum of ten days of unused vacation leave.
