Illness During Vacation Leave. An Employee whose vacation leave is interrupted by illness or injury that requires hospitalization or is under a doctor’s care for a period of two (2) consecutive days or more shall, upon request, have such period of hospitalization charged against available sick leave credits. The Employee will be required to provide medical evidence of such confinement.
Illness During Vacation Leave. Should an employee become ill or disabled while on vacation on duty days, vacation leave may be changed to sick leave, effective the date of illness or disability, upon notice to and approval by the employee’s supervisor. Upon such notice, employees may be requested by the Employer to furnish evidence of such illness that is acceptable to the Employer.
Illness During Vacation Leave. An employee who becomes incapacitated for work due to his/her illness or injury for more than three (3) consecutive calendar days while on paid vacation, may substitute sick leave credits for vacation, provided the employee's request for sick leave substitution is accompanied by a doctor's statement or other satisfactory evidence.
Illness During Vacation Leave. Illness while on paid vacation may be charged to sick leave instead of vacation under the following conditions:
12.6.5.1 The illness or injury of the employee was of a nature that would preclude the effective use of vacation and would have prevented the employee from performing his/her normal duties had he/she been at work.
12.6.5.2 The employee must notify his/her supervisor prior to his/her scheduled return to work, if circumstances allow it, in order to request that his/her vacation time be converted to sick leave and shall provide evidence in the form of a physician's certificate.
Illness During Vacation Leave. When the bargaining unit members vacation becomes due during a period when he/she is on leave due to illness or injury, the date may be changed in accordance with other vacation dates which are available.
Illness During Vacation Leave. If an employee should experience illness or injury of a serious nature during vacation leave, providing the illness or injury is documented by a physician and provided the Employer is notified immediately, time off for these reasons will be charged against the employee's sick leave and not vacation time.
Illness During Vacation Leave. Employees who become ill while on approved vacation may utilize sick leave for the period of illness subject to the provisions of Article 20, Section 20.2, Paragraph B, provided the following conditions are met:
1) Immediately upon becoming ill, the employee notifies the Division Manager; and
2) Upon returning to work, the employee presents to the Division Manager a certificate from a health care provider stating the date and nature of the illness and the length of the incapacity.
Illness During Vacation Leave. When an employee is on vacation for a period of more than three (3) days and becomes sick or injured, upon request to the Branch Executive Director the vacation leave shall be changed to sick leave. The Branch Executive Director may request a medical certificate.
Illness During Vacation Leave. Where during a period of vacation leave an illness or accident affects a period, sick leave may be substituted for that period if supported by a Medical Certificate.
Illness During Vacation Leave. 4.1 When an employee is injured or becomes sick for one or two days while on authorized vacation leave, sick leave may be exchanged on an equal time basis for vacation as long as the employee upon return to work provides either a declaration from the employee or attending physician stating the nature of the illness. An employee may recover sick leave utilizing an employee's declaration only once in a three-year period.
4.2 When an employee is injured or becomes sick for three or more days while on authorized vacation leave, sick leave may be exchanged on an equal time basis for vacation as long as the employee upon return to work provides a declaration from his or her attending physician indicating the nature of illness and the number of days the employee would have been unable to work due to that illness.
