Joint Standing Committee. 4.1 There shall be established for the life of this Agreement a Joint Standing Committee composed of the President of the College or his/her designate and the President of the Union or his/her designate and one additional member appointed by the College and the Union. In addition, there shall be one alternate representing each party. At each meeting of the Committee, the parties shall each designate which of their two representatives shall be their voting member for that meeting.
4.2 Of the two representatives representing each party, one shall be a co-chairperson and another an alternate co-chairperson. The College co-chairperson and the Union co-chairperson shall alternate in presiding over meetings.
4.3 The Committee may, by an affirmative vote, call upon additional persons for technical information or advice. The Committee may also establish ad hoc subcommittees as it deems necessary, and shall set guidelines and operating procedures for such subcommittees.
4.4 All decisions, including 4.3 above, of the Committee shall be by majority vote.
4.5 The Committee shall meet at the call of either party at a mutually agreeable time and place. The quorum for a meeting shall be one College representative and one Union representative.
4.6 The Committee shall have the power to make final and binding decisions only on matters specifically agreed to in this Agreement and on any other matters specifically referred to it by mutual agreement of the College and the Union. Where the Committee cannot agree, the matter shall be referred back to the parties.
4.7 The Committee shall submit recommendations to the parties on other matters specifically referred to it by mutual agreement of the College and the Union, including reviewing matters, other than grievances or complaints under statutes, relating to the maintenance of good relations between the parties.

(c) All decisions, including (b) above, of the Committee shall be by unanimous vote.
(d) The Committee shall meet at the call of either party at a mutually agreeable time and place. The quorum for a meeting shall be two Employer representatives and two Union representatives. Should there be unequal representation at a meeting, then only equal numbers representing each party shall be permitted to vote.
(e) Employees required to attend meetings of the Committee or its sub-committee shall be granted leave of absence with pay (including sufficient travelling time), but any expenses incurred shall be borne by the Union.
(f) The Committee shall have the power to make final and binding decisions only on matters arising out of Clauses 1.06(a) of this Agreement and on any other matters specifically referred to it by mutual agreement of the bargaining agents. Matters arising out of Clause 13.02(c) shall be referred to the sub-committee provided for in Clause 34.01(h) below. The provisions of Clause 34.01(a) through (e) shall not apply to such matters referred to the sub-committee pursuant to Clause 13.02.
(g) The sub-committee established under paragraph (h) below shall have the power to make final and binding decisions only on matters arising out of Clause 13.02(c) of this Agreement.
(i) Hours of work disputes pursuant to Clause 13.02(c) shall be referred to a sub-committee of the Joint Standing Committee which shall be comprised of one Employer representative, one Union representative and a chairperson mutually agreed between the parties.
(ii) The dispute shall be determined on the basis of the decision of the majority of the sub-committee.
(iii) The cost of the chairperson shall be shared equally between the parties.

Joint Standing Committee. The AAUP and UConn Health have established a Joint Standing Committee, composed of an equal number of representatives from the administration and AAUP, to address ongoing issues related to: salary target mapping, confirmation and validation of metric data and considerations of significant inconsistencies in FTE assignments and/or work productivity targets. If necessary, a third party umpire will mediate disputes that cannot be resolved by the Standing Committee. Nothing in this paragraph modifies the authority of UConn Health to make work assignments.
Joint Standing Committee a. To further enhance the spirit of Section 1 of the collective agreement, the Company and the Union agree to a joint Standing Committee meeting to be held on the third Tuesday of every month. In the event that the parties are unable to meet on the third Tuesday the meeting shall be rescheduled to a mutually agreed time, within two weeks of the original meeting. Should there be no issues to be discussed the meeting may be cancelled by mutual agreement.
Joint Standing Committee. The Union and the College recognize the mutual value of ongoing joint discussions on matters pertaining to working conditions, employment, employee classifications, services and labour-management relations. To this end, the Union executive and management agree that in the event either party wishes to call a meeting under this clause, the meeting shall be held at a time and place fixed mutually. However, such a meeting will be held not later than ten (10) working days after the request has been received.
Joint Standing Committee. 21.01 Structure
(a) SMS and the Association acknowledge the mutual value of joint discussions on matters of common interest.
(b) There shall be established a Joint Standing Committee composed of three (3) SMS representatives and three (3) representatives appointed by the Association. SMS and the Association shall alternate in presiding over meetings.
Joint Standing Committee. (a) Each party to this agreement shall appoint a Standing Committee.
(b) The Union's Committee shall be composed of not more than four (4) Union members plus an alternate.
(c) The Employer's Committee shall be composed of not more than four (4) appointees of the Board of Directors plus an alternate.
(d) Each party shall notify the other by letter of the names of their committee members and any changes which may take place from time to time.
(e) The purpose of the Standing Committees shall be to meet together at the request of either Committee to discuss matters related to the administration of the Collective Agreement and to attempt to resolve any problems that may arise or can be foreseen.
(f) An agreement reached by the standing committee shall be deemed binding on both parties unless notice of requirement of ratification is given by either party at the meeting at which the agreement is made.
(g) The Standing Committee will not make any decisions that will alter or amend the Collective Agreement.
Joint Standing Committee. Refers to the Joint Committee formed under Article 7.09 (Joint Standing Committee), comprised of Union and College Executive representatives.
