Local Professional Development Committees. The Local Professional Development Committees (LPDC) shall be appointed in accordance with section 3319.22 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC). Time spent serving on such committees shall be without compensation, unless agreed to by the employee’s Employing Agency.
Local Professional Development Committees. The Association and the Board hereby agree to establish a Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) consistent with RC 3319.22 as amended by SB 230 and regulation adopted thereunder.
Local Professional Development Committees. 36.01 Two (2) local professional development committees (LPDCs) shall be established in accordance with the terms of this Article. Their purposes shall be to ensure that professional
36.02 Each of the two (2) LPDCs shall be composed of five (5) members, 3 bargaining unit members, and two (2) administrators. The composition of each LPDC shall be as follows:
A. Elementary LPDC - Elementary Committee will encompass teachers Pre K - 6. At least one administrator will be from the elementary level. Administrators will be appointed by the Superintendent.
B. Jr. High/Sr. High School committee will encompass teachers 7 - 12. At least one administrator will be from the middle/high level. Administrators will be appointed by the Superintendent.
36.03 All members of an LPDC shall serve for two (2) year terms, staggered elections. In the event of a vacancy, the LPDC member vacancy shall be filled by an appointment by the PCTA President for the unexpired term.
36.04 All teacher members of an LPDC shall receive release time, without loss of pay, to perform necessary LPDC work. LPDC members shall receive a reasonable opportunity for training in LPDC functions and shall be reimbursed for any actual and necessary
36.05 Decision making by each LPDC shall be by consensus, with further understandings that
36.06 Each LPDC shall accept out-of-District approved individualized professional development plans and progress to date of a teacher toward fulfilling such a plan, as well as previously approved professional development progress within the District.
36.07 Subject to the terms of this Article, each LPDC shall establish its own meeting time, method for conducting business, and an appeals process to be used by a teacher if his/her proposed individualized professional development plan is not approved by the LPDC.
36.08 Stipends of $1,000 will be paid to the Bargaining Unit members of the LPDC. This stipend will be paid the second pay of the month of June.
Local Professional Development Committees. There shall be one Local Professional Development Committee. It will be comprised of a majority of classroom teachers and shall establish and maintain its own bylaws, except that any appeals by administrators of procedures or decisions affecting them shall be to the Superintendent.
Local Professional Development Committees. 1. The number of Local Professional Development Committees (LPDC) within the district will be one (1) LPDC, (comprised of 9 classroom teachers and 6 administrators.
2. The composition of the committee insures that a majority of the members of each LPDC are classroom teachers selected by the Association President. The other members will be selected by the Superintendent and elected by the Principals.
3. A vacancy will be filled during the term of an LPDC member who vacates the position by the AEA President and/or Superintendent, as applicable. The appointment shall be for the remainder of the term.
4. The length of the terms of LPDC members shall be three (3) years and the terms shall be staggered.
5. Release time, along with substitutes or $22.00 per hour will be provided during which LPDC members are handling LPDC responsibilities outside their defined 7-1/2 hour workday.
6. The criteria required when an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) is submitted will be established by the Committee.
Local Professional Development Committees. The provisions of this article will be effective upon signing of negotiation agreement.
A. The Montpelier Local Professional Development Committee shall be composed of a majority of teachers who are selected by the Montpelier Education Association.
B. Any teacher who serves as a member of the Local Professional Development Committee shall receive release time for Local Professional Development Committee or shall receive $21.00 per hour for time spent on Local Professional Development Committee activities (up to a maximum of 20 hours per member).

2. The LPDC shall have five (5) of its membership identified as classroom teachers with staggered three (3) year terms beginning in 1999-2000.
3. The Association shall select the five (5) bargaining unit member members of the LPDC.
4. The Superintendent shall appoint three (3) administrative members with staggered three (3) year terms to the LPDC beginning in 1999-2000.
5. In the event of a vacancy, the committee member shall be replaced by the responsible appointing authority.
6. The Association, pursuant to its Constitution, shall determine the method(s) of recalling or replacing LPDC bargaining unit member.
7. The Superintendent shall determine the recall and replacement of non-teacher LPDC members.
8. If the LPDC decides to form a Collaborative Professional Development Committee, CPDC, the CPDC shall have an effective starting and ending date of no longer than one school year (August - June).
9. The LPDC shall determine its operational procedure, e.g., structure, quorum, meeting schedule, appeals process, CEU approval, record-keeping procedures, etc.
10. LPDC members shall be afforded the opportunity to attend training on the purpose, responsibilities, functioning, and legal requirements of the LPDC.
11. If training is available during the workday, committee members shall be given paid released time by the Board of Education to attend.
12. Each LPDC member shall be released without penalty during the regular school day when a meeting is scheduled.
13. Each LPDC member shall be paid a stipend of .001 of BA base per hour for meetings scheduled after the school day or after the regular school year.

4. The Superintendent shall appoint three (3) administrative members to the LPDC. Two of these shall be appointed for an initial term of one (1) year and one shall be appointed for an initial term of two (2) years.
5. With the exception of those appointed for the initial one-year term, the term of office of each member shall be two (2) years.
6. In the event of a vacancy, the committee member shall be replaced by the responsible appointing individual or Association.
7. The Association, pursuant to its Constitution, shall determine the method(s) of recalling or replacing LPDC teacher members.

16. Each LPDC member shall be paid a stipend of twenty dollars ($20.00) for each meeting attended.
17. Decisions of the LPDC may be appealed to the Board of Education. The Board must act on each appeal within fifteen (15) calendar days of each appeal. The Board's decision of each appeal may be processed through the negotiated grievance procedure.
18. The LPDC shall approve all CEU programs, course work for all certificated/licensed employees, with the exception of the Treasurer, as well as other activities that may provide CEUs, and the LPDC shall establish the criteria for the above programs.
