Membership Dues Deductions. Any employee who is a member of the Association or who has applied for membership may sign and deliver to the Board a completed NIPSCO membership application, furnished by the Association, authorizing payroll deduction of either full or half uniform membership dues in the Association. The choice for full- and half-time dues deduction will remain fixed for the fiscal year and may be changed only on the first and tenth deduction during the fiscal year with thirty (30) days written notice to the Payroll Department. Full time dues will be deducted for employees who are employed for more than four (4) hours and half dues will be deducted for the employees who are employed four (4) hours or less. Such authorization shall continue in effect unless revoked at the employee's request upon thirty (30) days written notice to the Board and the Association, or upon termination of employment or death of employee. The Board is expressly prohibited from any involvement in the collection of fines, penalties, or special assessments. The Association will certify to the Board, in writing, the annual amount of membership dues to be deducted. Pursuant to such authorization, the Board shall deduct such sum in twenty (20) equal standard payments from the employee's regular salary checks beginning each year with the first check in September. Payroll deductions shall be made no later than the second check after authorization has been received by the Board. The deductions shall be remitted not less frequently than semi-monthly to the Association. The Association shall indemnify and save the Board harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits, or other forms of liability that shall arise out of or by reason of action taken or not taken by the Board for the purposes of reliance of any lists, notice or assignment furnished by the Association as it applies to this section. The Association's representative and/or his/her designee shall be entitled to hold an association meeting not to exceed sixty (60) minutes for the purpose of contract familiarization for ratification before, during or after the duty day. A second meeting may be held later in the school year for the specific purpose of presenting the joint legislative positions of the Board and the Association for the forthcoming Legislative sessions. Membership Dues Deductions. 1. The District will deduct dues from the wages of bargaining unit members based on CSEA’s written direction to the District. CSEA is responsible for distributing, obtaining and maintaining dues authorization forms for bargaining unit members. 2. The District will make dues deductions only as directed by CSEA in writing. CSEA is responsible for notifying the District in writing of a withdrawal of dues deduction by any bargaining unit employee. 3. The District shall direct a unit member to the Association for inquiries regarding withdrawal from membership.
Membership Dues Deductions. Within thirty (30) calendar days from their first working day of the school year, staff covered by this Agreement may elect to sign and deliver to the District an Authorization of Dues Deduction form. Authorization will continue in effect until a request of revocation is submitted to the Association, signed by the staff member, and received within ten (10) working days from the first working day in September of the designated school year for which revocation is to take effect.
