Mental Health Leave. Each employee shall be entitled to take two (2) days off with pay per fiscal year for the purpose of self-healing. Under no circumstances shall employees be paid out this leave if it is not taken by the end of the vacation year or upon termination of employment. Employees will be allowed to take this leave prior to it earning it, but employees will be liable to deduction on their final pay if employment is terminated prior to earning the full 2 days.
Mental Health Leave. The parties recognise the importance and impact of mental health and wellness on employees at work and in their personal life, and the effect this may have on their attendance or performance at work. Mental health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution. The parties commit to providing support to employees who may have concerns about their mental health and wellbeing or who may experience mental illness. For an employee experiencing mental health concerns or illness the Employer may at its absolute discretion grant up to 5 days per year (non-cumulative) paid leave. This may be for (but not limited to) the purpose of attending appointments to support their mental health. This leave will be in addition to existing leave entitlements and may be taken as consecutive or single days or as a fraction of a day. Reasonable proof of mental health concerns or illness may be required and can be in the form of (but not limited to) a document issued by a mental health practitioner or a mental health service provider. The parties recognise that in order to maintain a safe and healthy working environment, employee work arrangements may need to be modified and the employer commits to making reasonable efforts to accommodate any such requests made by the employee.
Mental Health Leave. Mental Health Leave may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Director for up to five (5) working days in a calendar year in order for a direct service employee to address stress. A permanent eligible employee who has completed her probationary period may apply for a leave of absence with pay for legitimate stress related reasons. A written request for such leave shall be made to the Executive Director, stating reasons, prior to the desired commencement date of the leave.
Mental Health Leave. Refers to the period of time an employee is absent from work due to the need for time outside of the work environment, which can sometimes be stressful and have a negative impact on the employee's mental health and productivity. The employee and the Employer recognize that the purpose of the mental health leave is to improve the productivity of the employee after they return from their mental health leave.
Mental Health Leave. After one year of employment, and every year thereafter, a permanent, full-time employee may take up to four days per year designated as mental health days. After five years of employment, and every year thereafter, a permanent, full-time employee may take up to five days per year designated as mental health days. After one year of employment, and every year thereafter, a part-time employee may take up to two days per year leave designated as mental health days. After five years of employment, and every year thereafter, a part-time employee may take up to three days per year designated as mental health days. These days shall be taken from accumulated sick leave and paid accordingly. A separate record of these days shall be maintained by the Day Care Director. These days shall not be taken in conjunction with any vacation time.
Mental Health Leave. A district peace officer who experiences a traumatic even in the scope of employment shall be granted a maximum of one day of mental health leave per traumatic event. Such leave shall be provided in accordance with administrative regulations and shall not be deducted from the employee’s pay or leave balance A district peace officer shall be granted quarantine leave when ordered by the local health authority or the peace officer’s supervisor to quarantine or isolate due to possible or known exposure to a communicable disease while on duty. Such leave shall be provided in accordance with administrative regulations and shall not be deducted from the employee’s pay or leave balance.
Mental Health Leave. Two days off with pay shall be granted per year. These days are not to be accumulated.
Mental Health Leave. In order to prevent emotional and/or physical exhaustion to the point where a worker cannot perform his/her duties at Xxxxxxx, a worker may take up to four (4) days annually of his/her accumulated sick leave allowance as mental health leave under the following conditions:
1. The worker has completed probation, and
2. The worker has requested the leave in writing and received prior approval from their supervisor.
3. This leave may not be used to extend vacations or other leaves and holidays.
Mental Health Leave. A worker/employee may take up to four (4) days annually of his/her accumulated sick leave allowance as mental health leave under the following conditions:
1. The worker/employee has completed probation, and
2. This leave may not be used to extend vacations or other leaves and holidays.
Mental Health Leave. 38.1 Permanent Team Members are entitled to paid mental health leave of 5 days per year, based on the Team Member’s ordinary hours of work (pro-rata for part-time Team Members).
38.2 Mental health leave may be taken where a Team Member requires time off work:
(a) to deal with the impact of a mental health condition; and
(b) it is impractical to do so outside the Team Member’s ordinary hours of work.
38.3 Mental health leave is available in full on commencement of each year of Service by a Team Member and does not accumulate year to year.
38.4 Requests for Mental health leave will be treated as private and confidential.
38.5 Evidence Requirements
(a) The Company may request reasonable evidence to substantiate a Team Member’s entitlement to mental health leave. Evidence must satisfy a reasonable person that the leave is taken for the purpose specified in clause 38.2 and may include letter / certificate from the Team Member’s treating practitioner or, Psychologist.
38.6 Mental health leave may be taken in combination with other forms of leave such as annual leave, personal/carer’s leave and family and domestic violence leave.
38.7 Casual Team Members are entitled to unpaid mental health leave.
