Part-Time Traineeships. (a) A Trainee shall be engaged as an employee on a part time basis by working less than full time ordinary hours.
(b) For traineeships not covered by sub-clause 5.1(b), the formula displayed in sub- clause (c) for the calculation of wage rates shall apply.
(c) The wage rate shall be pro rata the full time rates based on variation in the amount of training and/or the amount of work over the period of the traineeship, which may also be varied on the basis of the following formula.
(d) Full time wage rate means the appropriate rate as set out in clause 6. Monetary Rates.
(e) Trainee hours shall be the hours worked per week including the time spent in approved vocational training. For the purpose of this definition, the time spent in approved vocational training may be taken as an average for that particular year of the Traineeship.
(f) Average weekly training time is based upon the length of the Traineeship specified in the Training Agreement as follows:
Part-Time Traineeships. 8.1 This sub-clause shall apply to Trainees who undertake a traineeship on a part-time basis by working less than full-time hours and by undertaking the approved training at the same or lesser training time than a full-time Trainee.
8.2 Employment Conditions for all Part-time Trainees
(a) A part-time Trainee shall receive, on a pro rata basis, all employment conditions applicable to a full-time trainee. All the provisions of this Agreement shall apply to part-time trainees except as specified in this Clause.
(b) A Trainee under-taking a school based traineeship may, with the agreement of the trainee, be paid an additional loading 25 per cent on all ordinary hours in lieu of annual leave, Sick Leave, personal leave and public holidays. Notwithstanding this, where a Trainee is called upon to work on a public holiday the provisions of the relevant award shall apply.
(c) A part-time Trainee may, by agreement, transfer from a part-time to a full-time traineeship position should one become available.
(d) The engagement periods specified in this Clause shall also be applicable to part-time trainees.

A part-time school-based Trainee may be engaged to work less hours than the minimum hours prescribed by this Schedule and the Award provided that the Trainee remains enrolled in compulsory education.

11.1.1 A part-time Trainee (other than a school-based Trainee) will be engaged to work for no less than a minimum average of 15 hours per work.
11.1.2 A part-time school-based Trainee may be engaged to work less hours than the minimum hours prescribed by this Appendix and the Agreement provided that the Trainee remains enrolled in compulsory education.

(j) Minimum and maximum hours of work for part-time employees specified in this Agreement shall apply to part-time Trainees also.

A pro rata adjustment will need to be made in the case where the relevant award specifies different ordinary full-time hours; for example, where the ordinary weekly hours are 40, 30.4 will be replaced by 32.
(b) Full-time wage rate" means the appropriate rates as set out in Table 1 — Wages —Trainees, of Part B and School Based Traineeships in Table 2 of Part B.
(c) Trainee hours" shall be the hours worked per week including the time spent in approved vocational training. For the purpose of this definition, the time spent in approved vocational training may be taken as an average for that particular year of the Traineeship.
(d) Average weekly training time" is based upon the length of the traineeships specified in the traineeship contract or training contract as follows:

Part-Time Traineeships. 4.3.1 The tables below set out the hourly rates of pay where the training is either fully off-the-job or where 20% of time is spent in approved training. 4.3.2 Where the training falls within the categories of solely on-the-job or, partly on-the-job and partly off-the-job then, the weekly rate is determined by multiplying the total hours spent in work and training by the applicable hourly rate, and by deducting 20%.
