PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. An employee who has been duly appointed by the authority of the Chief Constable to perform temporarily the duties of a rank higher than the employee normally holds shall be paid at the appropriate rate for the senior rank for each day the employee performs such duties after being so appointed.
PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. Employees who are duly appointed by the Employer to perform temporarily functions other than or in addition to those which they normally perform shall be paid for these additional or other duties at the rate set forth in Schedule F of this Agreement. Such appointments shall not normally be made for a period of less than two (2) weeks.
PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. Each employee who is assigned by the Fire Chief or their authorized representative to accept the responsibility of and carry out the duties of a position or rank senior to that which they normally hold, shall be paid at the rate for the senior position or rank while so acting.

PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. (a) On every occasion that an Inside employee is temporarily required to accept the responsibilities and carry out the duties incident to a position covered by this Agreement which is senior to the position which the employee normally holds, for a period of one full day or more, the employee shall be paid for every day that the employee carries out the duties of the senior position at the minimum rate in the scale for such senior position, except where the salary received in the employee's own position is equal to, or exceeds, the minimum of the senior position in which case the employee shall receive the next higher rate in the pay range of the senior position.
(b) An Outside employee who is temporarily required to work in a position with a wage rate which is higher than that wage rate for the position in which the employee is normally employed shall receive the wage rate of that higher classification while so required to work.
(c) Appointments of employees to a level of higher responsibility must be authorized in writing by the Head of the Department.
PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. 5(1) A member who has been duly appointed by the authority of the Chief Constable to perform temporarily the duties of a rank higher than he normally holds shall be paid at the appropriate rate for the senior rank for each shift or portion thereof that he performs such duties after being so appointed.
5(2) Any member who holds an acting senior rank and in doing so loses his seniority on annual leave, shall be paid at the acting senior rank's rate during his annual leave.
5(3) If a position under Section 5(1) of this Article is filled for longer than a cumulative period of one thousand forty-four (1044) working hours in any twelve (12) continuous months, it shall no longer be considered to be performed "temporarily", but shall be considered to be a vacancy and a promotion shall take place in accordance with Article 21(2), Promotion and Progression.
5(4) Section 5(3) above shall not apply when members are seconded to agencies which are not under the direct administration of the Board, or who are absent through accident or illness, leave of absence, training or any other occasion mutually agreed upon.
PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. A member who has been duly appointed by the authority of the Chief Constable to perform temporarily the duties of a rank higher than the member normally holds shall be paid at the appropriate rate for the senior rank for each day the member performs such duties after being so appointed, except in the case of a Corporal who performs duties as a Sergeant. Such a Corporal may be required to act in the capacity of a Sergeant for 1 (one), 2 or 3 days in any 1 (one) week without additional pay for so acting. Should a Corporal be required to act in the capacity of Sergeant for 4 consecutive days, the Corporal shall be paid as a Sergeant for the full 4 days.
PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. On every occasion that an employee is temporarily required to accept the responsibilities and carry out the duties incident to a position covered by this Agreement which is senior to the position which the employee normally holds, the employee shall be paid for every day that the duties of the senior position are carried out at the minimum rate in the scale for such senior position, except where the salary received in the employee's own position is equal to, or exceeds, the minimum of the senior position in which case the employee shall receive the next higher rate in the pay range of the senior position. Appointments of employees to a level of higher responsibility must be authorized by the Manager of the Orpheum, Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxx Theatre, and the Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxx Playhouse (hereinafter called "the Director, Civic Theatres").
PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. When an employee temporarily performs the principal duties of a higher paying position, the employee shall receive the first rate in the higher salary range which exceeds the salary received in the employee's regular position for each full working day that the employee performs the principal duties of the higher paying position. Employees who act in a senior capacity for a minimum of one month will have the hours spent in each senior position tracked and when they accumulate one year of service in a particular senior capacity shall receive the next pay increment for subsequent time spent acting in that senior capacity. Employees shall not be paid for performing higher-level duties as a result of covering for an employee who is absent due to the Earned Days Off arrangement. Appointments of employees to a level of higher responsibility must be authorized in writing by the employee’s Director or designate.
PAY FOR ACTING SENIOR CAPACITY. When an employee temporarily performs the principal duties of a higher paying position, the employee shall receive the first rate in the higher salary range which exceeds the salary received in the employee's regular position for each full working day that the employee performs the principal duties of the higher paying position. Employees shall not be paid for performing higher level duties as a result of covering for an employee who is absent due to a compressed work week arrangement. Appointments of employees to a level of higher responsibility must be authorized in writing by the employee’s Director or designate.
