Vacations and General Holidays. 4.1 All casual employees shall be entitled to 6% vacation pay and 4.4% general holiday pay, to be paid on each payday. 4.2 The general holiday pay for casual employees is based on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Family Day (third Monday in February), Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday (first Monday in August), Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

Vacations and General Holidays. (a) All temporary employees shall be entitled to 6% vacation pay and 4.8% general holiday pay, to be paid on each payday. (b) Temporary employees shall be entitled to time off without pay on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Family Day (third Monday in February), Good Friday, Easter Monday, except when schools are in session, in which case Easter Monday will be replaced by the Monday of Spring Break, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday (first Monday in August), Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Payment for general holidays shall be in accordance with 4 (a). (c) Employees who work on the day of Stampede Parade, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve, shall receive four (4) hours off, with pay or such lesser time as scheduled to work provided that the day is a regularly scheduled work day. (d) Temporary employees who are hired subsequent to October 26, 2000 into permanent positions, shall not receive credit toward vacation entitlement for time spent working in a temporary position.

Vacations and General Holidays. 11.01 Statutory holidays and vacation shall be paid in accordance of the Employment Standards Act of British Columbia. 11.02 Vacation and general holiday pay shall be paid on each pay day. 11.03 The recognized holidays are: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, BC Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and any day declared a public holiday by the Federal and/or Provincial Government.

The Employer shall pay to the employee for each hour worked (not including any pay for time traveled) a vacation allowance equal to six (6) percent of the applicable rate of pay, and a holiday pay allowance equal to four (4) percent of the applicable rate of pay. There shall be no work performed on Labour Day, except for the preservation of life or imminent danger to property. Vacation and General Holiday Pay shall be paid to each employee every pay period. The vacation period shall be three (3) weeks each year; the to be mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee.
Vacations and General Holidays. Section 501 - Statutory Holidays (a) All employees of the City shall be granted payment for all Statutory Holidays and for any day which the Council of the City may declare a public holiday. (b) For the purpose of this section, all new employees hired by the City shall have worked for the City at least fifteen (15) working days in the thirty (30) calendar day period immediately prior to the Statutory Holiday. Vacations and General Holidays. 9.01 Vacation and General Holiday pay shall be accrued at the rate of ten percent (10%) of gross earnings (six percent (6%) for annual vacation and four percent (4%) for General Holidays) and shall be paid to the employee at least monthly or upon termination of employment. For clarification purposes, it is the intent that holiday pay is paid only on hourly wages. Employees who have completed twelve (12) months of continuous employment from their date of hire (excluding temporary layoff) upon request shall be entitled to a minimum of three (3) week's vacation. Vacation periods will be arranged by mutual agreement between the employee and the Employer. The recognized holidays are: New Years Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Victoria Day Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day B.C. Day Boxing Day and any day declared a public holiday by the Federal and/or Provincial Governments. No work will be performed on Labour Day. All work performed on General Holidays shall be paid for at double time rates. In the event that any additional day or days are declared public or provincial holidays by the Federal and/or Provincial Governments, then such holidays shall be recognized and the General Holiday pay shall be increased by one-half of one percent (0.5%) for each additional day. When a General Holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the actual day will be observed. When a General Holiday falls during the week it may, by mutual consent be observed on the preceding Monday or the following Friday. When Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on Saturday and/or Sunday, the following Monday and /or Tuesday will be observed. Work performed on the day upon which it has been agreed that the holiday will be observed, will be paid for at double time rates.

Vacations and General Holidays. 11.1 Vacations (1) Paid annual vacations for all Regular Full-Time Employees and Temporary Full- Time Employees covered by this Agreement shall be as follows: (a) in the first calendar year of service, vacation will be granted on the basis of one-twelfth (1/12th) of fifteen (15) working days for each month, or portion of a month greater than one-half (½), worked by December 31st; (b) fifteen (15) working days of annual vacation with pay during the second (2nd) up to and including the seventh (7th) calendar year; (c) twenty (20) working days of annual vacation during the eighth (8th) up to and including the fifteenth (15th) calendar year of service; (d) twenty-five (25) working days of annual vacation during the sixteenth (16th) up to and including the twenty-third (23rd) calendar year of service; (e) thirty (30) working days of annual vacation during the twenty-fourth (24th) and all subsequent calendar years of service. (f) employees who leave the service of the Corporation shall receive vacation for the calendar year in which termination occurs, on the basis of one-twelfth (1/12th) of their vacation entitlement for that year for each month greater than one-half (½) worked to the date of termination. (1) Calendar Year" for the purpose of this Agreement shall mean the twelve (12) month period from January 1st to December 31st, inclusive. (2) all annual vacations shall be taken in the year in which they are earned and at such time as may be approved by the employee’s Department Head or delegate. (3) employees who are absent for twenty (20) or more accumulated working days on WorkSafeBC shall have their annual vacation entitlement and vacation pay prorated on the basis of the total time absent. (4) in the case of General Holidays falling on or observed on a regular work day while an employee is on annual holiday, the employee shall be granted extra day(s) in lieu of such holiday(s). (5) all employees other than those entitled to an annual percentage of earnings in lieu of vacation, will be paid during their annual vacations at the respective regular or classified rates of pay. (6) in the case of an employee leaving the service of the Corporation, adjustment will be made for any overpayment of vacation. (2) All other employees shall receive payment in lieu of vacation.
