Placement on Salary Scale a. Initial placement of faculty members on scale shall be determined using the common salary scale developed through provincial common table bargaining and included at Article 15.01 of the Agreement.
b. This scale placement language will not result in scale placement on the common salary grid above Step 4, except in cases where a regular faculty position is accepted by a person already employed by, or within two years of employment by, another institution in the BC College and Institute sector, in which case initial placement shall be made at the higher of the placement formula at the College or his/her current or most recent salary step at the most recent institution. This exception to the cap on scale placement will only apply when the employee becomes employed in the same or a substantially similar field. Probationary provisions set out in Article 5.07 will still apply.
c. The following criteria shall be used to determine the step on the common grid at which any employee shall be initially placed: One additional step for a degree at the Bachelor level, OR Two (2) additional steps for a Master’s Degree, OR Four (4) additional steps for a PhD Degree. Once placement has been determined utilizing academic credentials, then additional steps may be awarded as follows: One (1) additional step for each year of post-secondary teaching experience, One (1) additional step for professional certification recognized by the discipline requiring additional work and study beyond that required for a degree, such as a C.A., C.G.A., CMA (RIA), One (1) additional step for each two (2) years of teaching experience other than post-secondary to a maximum of two (2) steps,
Placement on Salary Scale. 1. a. Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, salary category of all teachers will be verified by the most recent evaluation of the Teacher Regulation Branch or the Teacher Qualification Service.
Placement on Salary Scale. When a Unit IV employee is promoted to a position one salary grade higher than the old position, the hourly rate of pay shall be adjusted by five percent (5%) if the promotion is one (1) grade, by ten percent (10%) if the promotion is two (2) grades or more. At that time, the employee shall be placed on the step closest to but greater than the computed amount.

c. The following criteria shall be used to determine the step on the common grid at which any employee shall be initially placed:
Placement on Salary Scale. The parties acknowledge that in accordance with its Policy, the City retains the right to place a newly hired or promoted employee on any step of the applicable scale for the Grade. Any increase given upon promotion shall result in but not be limited to a minimum increase of five percent (5%). Further, in the case of employees hired from outside the civic service, the City may grant vacation and sick leave credits as may be necessary to attract and recruit new employees to the civic service. Additionally, the City may waive waiting periods for commencement of benefits for employees hired from outside the civic workforce.
Placement on Salary Scale. Placement on the scale shall be made only under the following conditions:
1. Placement on the B+15, B+30, M+15, and M+30 scales will be made only if the credits presented for qualifications are no older than six (6) years.
2. Degree status (M), (Ph.D.), (Ed.D.) is obtained upon the conferring of the degree and not upon credit nor experience equivalent.
3. Eligibility to B+15, B+30, Master's, M+15, M+30 and Doctorate scales is attained upon the presentation to the Superintendent the official transcript of credits.
4. Contract changes reflecting higher credit and/or degree status will be made upon the approval of the Superintendent. The required forms and credentials must be submitted during the months of September and February. Such contract changes are retroactive only to September 1st or February 1st, respectively.
Placement on Salary Scale. A. Promotions within the unit, from one pay classification to a higher pay classification, shall be made in such a manner that the employee promoted shall move to the lowest step and grade in the new pay classification necessary to give her/him a pay increase equal to or greater than one step in her/his former pay classification.
B. In the event an employee eligible for a step advancement on the salary scale for the classification she/he is in is to be promoted effective between July 1 and December 31, said employee's salary following promotion shall be computed in accordance with 7.3.A above and the employee will be eligible for a step increase the following July. Those promoted between January 1 and June 30 will be eligible for a step increase on July 1 of subsequent years.
C. The human resources administrator will determine the step placement of new unit members on the salary schedule.
Placement on Salary Scale. 1. a. Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, salary category of all teachers will be verified by the most recent evaluation of the British Columbia College of Teachers or the Teacher Qualification Service.
b. The salary schedule is a basic scale, however, and the Board reserves the right to pay in special circumstances any teacher a salary higher than that provided in the schedule, in which case the Association shall be notified accordingly. The President of the Association shall be notified in writing of each appointment made under this Xxxxxx.
c. Persons holding Letters of Permission whose years of preparation can be equated by the Board to university training shall be placed one category below that which would apply if their total years of training had included one year of teacher preparation, with the exception of teachers appointed under Article B.20.5.
Placement on Salary Scale. 11.01 For a part-time teacher, salary shall be pro-rated based on the salary grid in Article
12.01. The salary shall be pro-rated in the ratio(s) that the teacher’s assignment bears to the assignment of full-time teachers as set out in Article 25.
11.02 Placement on the salary schedule shall be determined annually for such teachers, as of September 1, by the number of pro-rated years of service. Movement to the next year on the salary schedule shall occur when a number of 0.5 above the current position of the salary schedule is calculated.
11.03 Teachers qualified to teach in the elementary panel with QECO rating statements other than A1 to A4 shall be paid Category IV minimum plus full allowance for teaching experience within the elementary and secondary panels in accordance with 11.02.
