Professional Development Plan (PDP. All teachers who have successfully completed their ISP or PSP goals should select a goal and assemble their PDP team, write a PDP plan and discuss it with their PDP team, plan a timeline for follow up, and then work on the plan. The purpose of a teacher's PDP team is to be supportive, helpful, provide suggestions, and assist in reflection. Teachers should call upon the team as needed throughout the PDP Process. Teachers should make two copies of the PDP plan and progress reports; keep one and give the other two to their Professional Development Continuum Coordinator. The Coordinator should share one with the program administrator and then file it on site.

Professional Development Plan (PDP. The PDP will include a statement by the Teacher which will constitute the evidence of high quality teaching by addressing: • Knowledge base of student learning; • High quality instruction; and • Proficiency in specialised areas of learning.

The PDP provides an opportunity for faculty to establish professional growth objectives over a four year period. The PDP is to be developed by the faculty member in collaboration with the appropriate administrator; however, administration will make every effort to accommodate faculty preferences in choice of activities. Successful completion of the PDP meets WAC 000-00-000 requirements for professional-technical faculty. For professional-technical certification requirements refer to WAC 131-16.
7.4.1.1 All tenured full-time faculty and full-time temporary faculty are required to have a four-year PDP.
7.4.1.2 Professional-technical faculty have an additional state requirement to submit a PDP at three and five years (WAC 131.16.092)
7.4.1.3 The PDP may be modified by mutual agreement between the faculty member and the appropriate administrator; however, the faculty member will be required to create the PDP only once every four years. Modifications will be included as an amendment with the original plan.

Within thirty (30) school days after the completion of an evaluation rating a tenured teacher as “needs improvement,” a district evaluator shall develop, in consultation with the teacher, and taking into account the teacher's on-going professional responsibilities including his or her regular teaching assignments, a professional development plan directed to the areas that need improvement and indicating any supports that the district will provide to address the areas identified as needing improvement. The plan will be conducted in accordance with the PDP Guidelines attached to this Agreement as Appendix C. Failure to complete the plan will not affect the employee’s rating. Completion of the plan shall be taken into consideration when the employee is evaluated in the year following the rating of “needs improvement.” See the “Tenured Employee Professional Development Plan Guidelines” Appendix C.

7.4.1.2 All part-time professional-technical faculty who teach two- thirds or more of a full-time load for more than the equivalent of three quarters are required to submit a three year PDP. Upon completion of their three year PDP, they will transition to a five year PDP.
7.4.1.3 All probationary track faculty and newly hired full-time professional-technical faculty will be required to submit a three year PDP. Upon completion of their three year PDP, they will transition to a five year PDP.

Professional Development Plan (PDP. A tenured teacher who receives a “Needs Improvement” for his or her Overall Summative Evaluation Rating must be placed onto the district’s Formal Professional Development Plan (PDP). The following details the district’s PDP:
A. The PDP will be developed by the building principal, or designee, and the teacher within 30 school days after the Overall Summative Evaluation Rating Conference and shall be administered in accordance with the provisions of the Illinois School Code then in effect.

Professional Development Plan (PDP. Schalmont’s PDP conforms to the requirement of a Professional Development Plan (PDP)- Subdivision (dd) of Section 100.2 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. The purpose of Schalmont’s PDP is to improve the quality of teaching and learning by ensuring that teachers participate in substantial professional development in order to remain current with their profession. The Schalmont Teachers’ Institute, a collaboration between the district and bargaining unit, fulfills the State mandate through it’s: ► policy board composition ► identification of teacher needs ► establishment of goals ► development and implementation of activities ► evaluation of program and operation ► articulation of professional development across grade levels ► alignment of professional development with NYS standards and assessments In the event that STI does not exist, the Policy Board shall assume the role and the responsibility of becoming the district’s Professional Development Council. The Professional Development Plan is appended hereto as Appendix K and incorporated by express reference herein.
