Relief Drivers. The parties agree that Hourly Employees who are engaged by an Owner Operator, in accordance with this Collective Agreement, to act as a Relief Driver, will be subject to the discipline procedure should they fail to act in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of an Owner Operator. In the event that an Owner Operator engages a Relief Driver from outside the bargaining unit, the Owner Operator assumes all responsibility for the actions of said Relief Driver and shall be disciplined accordingly should the Relief Driver fail to act in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of an Owner Operator. It is further agreed that no Owner Operator shall be disciplined with greater than a level three letter of concern issued in progressive discipline for the actions of a non bargaining unit Relief Driver.
Relief Drivers. Drivers identified and selected by the School District to serve as relief drivers will be paid a stipend of $850.00 per year. The stipend pay is spread out over the school year September through August 31 and paid starting the first pay period in September.
Relief Drivers. To cover short term absences of drivers, the Company may use suitably qualified warehouse personnel to undertake driving duties.
Relief Drivers. Will be hired/promoted when the candidate/employee meets the requirements of the position. An individual hired as a Driver in Training will not have to reapply to become a relief driver. Hours for a Relief Driver will vary based upon availability and will be on-call for approximately six (6) months. Upon completion of approximately six (6) months (depends on Driver’s level of knowledge) as Relief Driver and upon the availability of an open route, the Relief Drive may move to a Route Driver without having to apply. There will be a hiring bonus for all new Relief Drivers of $3000 over three (3) years, $750 at signing, $750 at one (1) year anniversary, $1500 at two (2) year anniversary. This position is benefit eligible.
Relief Drivers. Relief drivers will receive holiday, PTO and bereavement leave benefits based on his his/her regular straight time hourly rate for the average hours of regularly scheduled hours worked per week during the preceding four (4) pay periods.
Relief Drivers. 19.7.1 Relief drivers shall be guaranteed a minimum of four (4) paid hours per day.
19.7.2 Relief drivers will be responsible for learning all routes and, when needed, will substitute for regular drivers on any route, except as provided below.
19.7.2.1 In the event a regular driver will be absent for more then forty (40) working days, and such fact is known in advance by MCOE, and that driver’s regular route exceeds four (4) hours, the substitute assignment for that route will be offered to regular drivers whose regular hours are less than the absentee’s hours, in order of hire date seniority. If no regular driver accepts the absent regular driver’s assigned route, the route will be assigned to the relief driver. (4/00)
19.7.2.2 If a regular driver resigns, thereby leaving his/her regular route vacant, the route will be offered to those regular drivers for whom acquiring the route will result in an increase in hours, in accordance with 19.2.2 above, before being assigned to a relief driver by seniority.
19.7.2.3 A relief driver who is assigned a regular route as a result of the circumstances in 19.6.2.2 above shall become a regular driver and the position shall be posted as a vacancy for relief driver.
19.7.3 Relief drivers shall serve a probationary period as do all other unit members, and shall be entitled to all rights and benefits of all other unit members in accordance with this Agreement. Relief drivers shall be considered to be classified employees and shall enjoy all rights and benefits accruing to all
19.7.4 Regular drivers may apply in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement for a vacant relief driver position or may, when regular routes are assigned on route selection days of each year, choose the assignment of relief driver. If a relief driver is displaced by the exercising of such option, he/she will be offered a regular run in accordance with Section 19.2.2 and will become a regular driver.
19.7.5 A relief driver may be assigned to special trip assignments as follows:
19.7.5.1 Only after the assignments have been offered to all drivers in accordance with Section 19.3 above and all eligible drivers have refused; OR
19.7.5.2 If the relief driver has been assigned to substitute for a regular driver who has accepted a special trip assignment and is subsequently absent on the date of the assignment; OR
19.7.5.3 If the special trip assignment, when added to the relief driver’s assigned hours that day, does not exceed four (4) total hours.

31:03 It is further agreed that no Owner Operator shall be disciplined for the actions of a non bargaining unit relief driver.
31:04 The Company may in its sole discretion terminate the relief driver from approved relief driver status provided the Company is able to supply a reasonable explanation as to the removal.
31:05 Relief drivers must verify training and provide the following documents before being approved to cover time off; proof of insurance, a valid drivers license, proof of WSIB coverage or clearance, or other documents that may be required as a result of legislative or statutory requirements.
Relief Drivers. 41.1 Where Xxxxxx decides to remove or relocate a Concrete Truck and as a consequence there is a requirement to appoint a ‘relief driver’ at the home plant the truck is taken from, Xxxxxx will first seek volunteers to take the ‘relief driver’ position and appoint a volunteer ‘relief driver’ after having consideration to the operational requirements including driver flexibility, diversity and suitability of skills.
41.2 If after 48 hours from the notice of the requirement of a relief driver, no volunteer is found, Xxxxxx will appoint a relief driver after having consideration to the operational requirements including driver flexibility, diversity and suitability of skills.
Relief Drivers. A regularly scheduled employee who performs a driver’s function when a route is vacant for any reason, they are ex- pected to maintain a reasonable route standard. They will be notified of a shift change at the end of the previous working day. Sorter A regularly scheduled employee who marks freight for destination or does the mail sort.

Utility Clerk A regularly scheduled clerk who performs the duties of two (2) or more classifications as per Article will be classified as a Utility Clerk.
