Relief from Overtime. (a) It is the policy of the Company to cooperate and grant the request of an employee who desires to be relieved from overtime for bona fide personal reasons. Relief from Overtime. It is the policy of the Company to cooperate and grant the re­quest of an employee who desires to be relieved from overtime for bona fide personal reasons. It is understood that at least two requests will be granted in each center per day, and that the employee granted such relief will not be required to work more than eight (8) hours. Any employee who desires to be relieved from overtime on a particular day or days (but in no event for more than one (1) week) shall submit a request in writing at least twenty-four hours in ad­vance. This request will be processed by both the center manager and the shop xxxxxxx. Requests made during the months of November and December may be granted at the sole discretion of management.
Relief from Overtime. The Employer agrees that consideration will be given to requests of employees for relief from a required overtime assignment. In addition to workload and other appropriate considerations, the supervisor's decision to approve or disapprove the employee's request will include consideration of the employee's stated hardship(s), expressed desires and personal convenience, and the availability of qualified volunteers. An employee's performance rating shall not be lowered solely because the employee requests relief from overtime work.

  • Overtime Voluntary The Parties are agreed that all overtime will be voluntary.

  • Allocation of Overtime Subject to the operational requirements of the service, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort:

  • Computation of Overtime In computing overtime a period of thirty (30) minutes or less shall be counted as one-half (½) hour and a period of more than thirty (30) minutes but less than sixty (60) minutes shall be counted as one (1) hour.

  • Banked Overtime In the event the day in lieu of working the statutory holiday is not provided as stipulated in 8.01.04, this portion may also be banked.

  • Weekly Overtime An Employee required to work in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) for the first eight (8) hours of work in excess of the forty (40) hours and double time thereafter.

  • Distribution of Overtime Overtime shall be distributed as equally as feasible among qualified employees customarily performing the kind of work required, and currently assigned to the work unit in which the overtime is to be worked. When the assignment of overtime work causes an unusual burden upon the employee, the employee shall not be required to work overtime unless the absence would cause the Agency to be unable to meet its responsibilities.

  • Voluntary Overtime In the event that the Employer’s reasonable effort to avoid overtime is not successful, and the Employer has knowledge of the overtime requirement at least three (3) hours in advance, the Employer will first offer the overtime work, on a seniority basis, to qualified employees who have indicated in writing a willingness to work overtime. It is understood that if there is no availability form on file for an employee, the Employer has no obligation to contact that employee to work additional hours. If the Employer has knowledge of the overtime requirement less than three (3) hours in advance, the Employer’s obligation will be limited to offering the overtime work in order of seniority to qualified employees on duty in the affected unit or classification. The Employer will make a reasonable effort to arrange for voluntary sharing between employees of the overtime requirement prior to invoking mandatory overtime. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Employer retains the right to select a less senior employee whose overtime rate will be at time and one-half, if the more senior employee’s overtime rate for any of the overtime hours to be worked will be at double- time, or to replace an employee at the point that he or she would be working on less than ten (10) hours’ rest on the employee’s next scheduled shift.

  • Overtime Pay Calculation Overtime shall not be claimed or received for less than fifteen (15) minutes. If overtime amounts to fifteen (15) minutes, or more, it shall be paid for the total period.

  • Equalization of Overtime To the extent possible, consistent with current practice, voluntary overtime opportunities shall be distributed equally among qualified volunteers with similar skills and duties . The employer will attempt to meet overtime needs by first soliciting volunteers prior to making assignments . It is understood that soliciting volunteers may not be appropriate in emergency situations (including short- notice absences) . Section Six. (a) Effective 7/1/95, employees who are assigned to a fixed duty station and have previously been receiving portal to portal pay, shall have the benefit of counting their travel time to and from the fixed duty station limited to one-half (1/2) hour each way.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.
