Requests for PTO Sample Clauses

Requests for PTO. PTO may be used as allotted and requires prior approval from the employee’s immediate supervisor. The immediate supervisor has the discretion to approve or deny a request for PTO based on operational needs, as the needs of the University come first when scheduling PTO for an employee. To the extent possible, however, consideration will be given to any specific requests by an employee; competitive requests for the same time off shall be decided in favor of the employee with the greater University seniority.

Requests for PTO. Requests for PTO will be governed by the provisions described below.
Requests for PTO covering in any part the months of June, July and August shall be submitted no earlier than January 1 of the same calendar year. All such requests submitted prior to February 1 will be granted based on seniority, except that nurses shall not be eligible to exercise such right of seniority over less senior nurses if they exercised that right for the same period of time off (i.e. for a period within the same calendar month) during the preceding year. The Employer shall provide a response to such a request by February 15. Requests for June, July and August PTO received after February 1, will be based on earliest date of request.
Requests for PTO. PTO, as with all other time off, must, except in unusual circumstances, be requested in writing in advance of the time off desired, and approved or denied in writing within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of the request by the Supervisor. Approval will be based upon the Hospital's determination of its staffing needs, with first consideration given to the needs of particular nursing units. Nurses shall be granted PTO requests based on seniority; however, once granted the request shall not be subsequently rescinded unless mutually agreed by the nurse and the unit manager.
