EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. Classified employees shall, once a year on July 1 be credited with 100 working days of paid sick leave, including any regular sick leave to which he or she is entitled under Article 10.3. Pay for the extended sick leave days shall be paid at 50% of the employee’s regular salary. This paid sick leave shall be in addition to other paid leaves, holidays, vacation, or compensation time to which the employee may be entitled.

EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. For Child Development Teachers and Family Services Lead Teachers, after all earned leave is exhausted, additional non-accumulated leave shall be available for a period not to exceed five (5) school months, provided that the provisions of 10.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. 10 The extended sick leave benefit described above may be used for periods of illness 11 which occur during an employee's regular work schedule that lasts more than twenty- 12 four (24) scheduled hours of work. PTO must be used for the first twenty-four (24) 13 hours of scheduled time an employee is off due to illness (1) if available in an 14 employee's PTO bank and (2) provided such mandatory utilization of sick PTO is 15 limited to a maximum of sixty-four (64) hours per calendar year. PTO may be used 16 when extended sick leave benefits are exhausted if available in an employee's PTO 17 bank. Extended sick leave benefits shall only be provided upon satisfactory proof of 18 illness, not limited to, a medical provider’s authorization. Notwithstanding the above, 19 employees may use their extended sick leave benefits for any hospitalization stay 20 beginning with the first day of overnight hospitalization or any outpatient surgical 21 procedure as defined as qualifying by Hospital policy. Extended sick leave benefits 22 shall have no maximum cap. Extended sick leave benefits shall not be convertible to 23 cash under any circumstances, nor shall extended sick leave benefits be paid to any 24 employee upon separation of employment at Bay Area Hospital. Employees who work 25 as temporary employees, relief or per diem employees, shall be ineligible to receive 26 any accrual of extended sick leave benefits.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. 1. A teacher suffering from any medical condition which requires them to be hospitalized or under home care that exhausts his/her accumulated sick leave may apply to the School Committee for an extended sick leave benefit. This benefit shall be equal to one-half (1/2) of a teacher’s accumulated sick leave at the onset of the absence, to a maximum of ninety (90) days. 2. Teachers applying for this extended sick leave benefit must: a. Have achieved Professional Status b. Present a letter from a physician certifying that such leave is necessary and that the teacher meets the requirements outlined in these regulations 3. Each request for extended sick leave requires the approval of the Leicester School Committee whose decision is not subject to the grievance procedure or legal action. Each request shall be judged on its own merits. No leave will be granted for an absence of less than fifteen (15) days.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. If, a unit member is absent because of an accident or illness not in the scope of employment, the unit member shall utilize all accrued sick leave hours and then receive 50% of his/her regular pay for a period of up to 100 days per year. Such paid leave shall be exclusive of all paid leaves, vacation, holiday, or the unit member may elect to utilize accrued vacation or time before the commencement of the extended illness leave at 50% pay.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. In accordance with Education Code Section 88196, a regular 9 classified unit member shall be credited once each fiscal year with a total of one hundred (100) 11 member’s regular salary. Each fiscal year shall be considered a new period and subsequent one 12 hundred (100) half-paid days of sick leave shall be applied, but shall not be cumulative from year 13 to year. The paid sick leave under this section shall be used only after all other sick leave 14 entitlement has been exhausted and shall be exclusive of any other paid leave, holidays, or vacation 15 time to which the unit member may be entitled.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT a) The Company will offer an extended sick leave arrangement to assist employees, other than casual employees, who are unable to work because of long term sickness or injury and are suffering substantial financial hardship. b) This will be in the form of a sick leave pool that is equivalent to eight (8) hours per annum per employee. If the sick leave pool is reduced during the year it will be topped up at the commencement of July each year during the life of the Agreement. A committee consisting of both management and employee representatives is in place to manage this scheme. c) Employees will be eligible for payment out of this pool of hours if they: i) have more that twelve (12) months continuous service with the Company; ii) have satisfied the Committee that they are unable to return to work due to severe illness or incapacity; iii) do not have a personal history of unauthorised absenteeism; iv) have exhausted their normal sick, annual, long service and RDO leave accrual; v) are not receiving workers compensation or any other form of accident, illness or injury benefits from an external agency or fund; vi) are not receiving Total Temporary Disablement Benefits from their nominated Superannuation Scheme; and vii) are suffering genuine hardship to the satisfaction of the Committee and that this hardship is likely to continue.

EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. (A) All full-time non-probationary employees may be eligible for an extended sick leave benefit (ESLB) with pay for documented major medical illnesses or injury of the employee only. Major medical illnesses or injury is limited to surgery, hospitalization, or birth of a child. The ESLB may be available for use beginning on the second (2nd) consecutive work day of absence necessitated by such major medical illness or injury and shall be limited to twenty (20) non-accruable working days in a twelve (12) month period beginning on July 1 of each year and extending through June 30 of the following year. Employees must use accumulated sick leave, vacation or be absent without pay during the first day of absence immediately preceding the ESLB due to the major medical illness or injury. ESLB will be deducted from an eligible employee's family and medical leave entitlement. If an employee returns to work before exhausting the ESLB, the unused portion of the twenty (20) days will be available for use for a second major medical illness or injury during the same twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30) under the same terms and conditions as set forth above. ESLB may not be carried over from one twelve (12) month period to the next. If an absence covered by ESLB extends from one twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30) to the next, the employee must return to work before becoming eligible for any remaining ESLB days in the second year.

ESLB will be deducted from an eligible employee's family and medical leave entitlement. If an employee returns to work before exhausting the ESLB, the unused portion of the twenty (20) days will be available for use for a second major medical illness or injury during the same twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30) under the same terms and conditions as set forth above. ESLB may not be carried over from one twelve (12) month period to the next. If an absence covered by ESLB extends from one twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30) to the next, the employee must return to work before becoming eligible for an additional twenty (20) days of ESLB in the next twelve (12) month period (July 1 - June 30). (B) Termination of ESLB: In the event the School eliminates the ESLB benefit, all provisions for this benefit in this section will become null and void irrespective of the employment date of the employee. In the event the School reduces the ESLB benefit, all provisions for this benefit in this section will be reduced proportionately, irrespective of the employment date of the employee.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE BENEFIT. A faculty member suffering from any medical condition which requires him/her/them to be hospitalized or under home care that exhausts his/her/their accumulated sick leave may apply to the School Committee for an extended sick leave benefit. This benefit shall be equal to one-half (½) of a faculty member’s accumulated sick leave at the onset of the absence, to a maximum of ninety (90) days.
