Secondary Planning Time. The secondary classes will be scheduled to provide each secondary teacher with at least 1 class period per day for planning purposes. (Negotiated and agreed to 2018)
Secondary Planning Time. All secondary classroom teachers shall be granted one (1) class period a day, free of all duties and away from the students in a regular classroom situation for the purpose of preparation and evaluation. An exception to this condition will be for the staff members in schools operating under a rotating drop schedule.
Secondary Planning Time. All classroom teachers at the secondary level shall be allowed no less than 275 minutes of non-student contact time per week for the purpose of preparation for instruction. A regular daily schedule will include a minimum of 50 total minutes plan time. The recommendation to adjust the schedule to provide for the most consecutive minutes of preparation time possible shall be made by a representative body of the building. Efforts will be made to provide library/media specialists daily plan time if they teach a regular schedule. Team work/planning sessions that are held during teacher plan time will be collaborative in nature.

Principals will work with employees to mitigate the impact of school schedule anomalies that reduce 18 employee planning time and will assign preferred planning times fairly among staff members. A secondary 19 teacher who regularly teaches an assigned class during his/her preparation period shall receive additional pay 20 prorated according to the total number of teaching and planning periods in the day. Students shall not be 21 assigned to an employee during their planning period unless the employee agrees. When buying out the 22 planning period of any staff member, qualified teachers in seniority order who have the same planning period, 23 or where student and master schedules can be adjusted with minimal impact, will be given the first option for 24 the buyout. Buyouts will be calculated using a multiplication factor of 0.2 FTE.

A secondary teacher who regularly teaches an assigned class 38 during his/her preparation period shall receive additional pay prorated according to the total number of 39 teaching and planning periods in the day. Students shall not be assigned to a certificated employee during 40 their planning period unless the employee agrees. When buying out the planning period of any staff 41 member, qualified teachers in seniority order who have the same planning period, or where student and 42 master schedules can be adjusted with minimal impact, will be given the first option for the buy out. Buy 43 outs will be calculated using a multiplication factor of .2 FTE.
Secondary Planning Time. Secondary teachers will have sixty (60) minutes of individual preparation time during four (4) out of five (5) school days each week. On the fifth day of each week, an individual plan time will be considered to be one class period.

Employees shall 14 work with their Principal to schedule such time. 16 Section 20.3.2 17 All secondary librarians shall receive three (3) additional days and 12 hours of classified support 18 time, to be used for the opening or closing of a library, including ordering, collection/book 19 inventory, textbook inventory and technology inventory. Librarians assigned as a double lead shall 20 receive two (2) additional days to complete this work. These days will be authorized through 21 issuance of a supplemental contract and will be paid at each librarian’s per diem rate. Secondary 23 grade levels.
Secondary Planning Time. 17 Due to planning time equity concerns raised at schools operating on a block schedule for first semester of 18 the 2018-19 school year, classroom teachers at GVJH will receive 8.5 hours of per diem compensation and 19 classroom teachers at ERHS will receive 12.5 hours of per diem compensation. Compensation shall be 20 prorated based on the employee’s FTE and active working days during the semester. Compensation will be 21 made on the February 2019 pay warrant. 23 If a long-term solution is not reached by second semester 2019, the same stipend will be applied each 24 semester in the same manner, until the discrepancy is resolved, throughout the duration of the agreement.
