Seniority and Seniority Lists. Seniority shall be defined as the length of continuous service as an member from the first day worked last being hired by the Pine Ridge District School Board or its predecessors. Seniority shall continue to accumulate and shall not be considered an interruption of continuous service for any teacher who is on approved absence including, but not limited to, Sick Leave, Teacher Self-Funded Leave, Educational Leave, Unpaid Leave, Federation Leave, Compassionate Leave, Pregnancy or Parental Leaves, Infant Care Leave, Long Term Disability and layoff with recall rights. As set out in Article seniority will not accumulate while a teacher is temporarily assigned out of the bargaining unit as an Seniority lists will be established for teachers employed by the Employer. These lists will record the school, teacher, date of hire and the percentage of time worked. In addition, the list shall include the qualifications for a minimum of the least senior teachers. Such seniority lists will be made available by February to the President of District and Principals for posting in the schools. Teachers will have up to fourteen (14) days to submit corrections to the Superintendent of Human Resources or designate. Should a tie in rank ordering occur based on the first day of work the following criteria shall be used to break the tie: total years of secondary experience with the Employer and its predecessor Boards; THEN total years of teaching experience with the Employer and its predecessor Boards; THEN by lot conducted by a Superintendent and the President of District In applying the above criteria, the steps shall be applied in order as required until the tie is broken.
