Sick Leave Accrual and Carryover. Employees accrue sick leave at the rate of eight (8) hours for each 173.3 hours worked (.04616 hours for each hour worked). At the end of the calendar year, unused paid sick leave balances of 480 hours or less will carry over to the following year. Unused accrued paid sick leave will not be paid out to the employee upon termination, resignation, retirement or other separation from employment. If an employee leaves employment with CBH and is rehired within 12 months of separation, any accrued, unused sick leave will be reinstated to the employee’s paid sick leave balance assuming such balance was not paid out to the employee. If an employee is rehired within 12 months of separation, the employee will not be required to wait another 90 days to use the accrued paid sick leave if the employee met that requirement during the previous period of employment. If an employee did not meet the 90-day requirement for the use of paid sick leave prior to separation, the previous period of time the employee worked for CBH will count towards the 90 days for purposes of determining the employee’s eligibility.
