Sickness at Home. 21.6.1 An employer may grant an employee leave on pay as a charge against sick leave entitlement when the employee must stay at home to attend to a member of the household who through illness becomes dependent on the employee. This person would in most cases be the employee’s child or partner but may be another member of the employee’s family or household.
Sickness at Home. 14.3.1 The employer may grant an employee leave on payment at ordinary base rates (T1 only) as a charge against sick leave entitlement when the employee must take leave to attend to their spouse or partner or another person who depends on the employee for care who is sick or injured. Approval is not to be given for absences during or in connection with the birth of an employee's child. Such a situation should be covered by annual leave or parental leave. The production of a medical certificate or other evidence of illness may be required.
Sickness at Home. 2.8.7 A worker may be granted leave on pay, as set out below, as a charge against sick leave entitlement when the worker must, because of emergency, stay at home to attend to a member of the household who through illness becomes dependent on the worker. This person would in most cases be the worker’s child or partner but may be another member of the worker’s family or household. However, when an application is received for someone falling outside the worker’s family, it should be referred to the Regional Commander for consideration. “
