SIGN-UPS. 1. A majority of any group of shift workers may elect to sign-up on a seniority basis to establish the choice of shifts, location and days off. Periods of the sign-up shall be 51 weeks or 24 weeks or more frequently by mutual agreement, provided that the period shall be a multiple of 3 weeks. 2. Shift sign-up shall be by seniority as defined in Article 4 or by criteria determined by a simple majority of the group concerned, subject to approval by the Company and the Union. Once established, the sign-up criteria may not be changed except by a two-thirds majority vote of the group concerned. The seniority list will be posted in conjunction with the sign-up.

SIGN-UPS. The Company agrees to sign up new employees upon their hire and submit the section of the Authorization Card (Union Form 530) to the Local Union President within thirty (30) days.

Said schedule shall remain in effect until such time as a new set of schedules has been prepared, posted, signed, and become effective. By mutual agreement between the District and the Union, the District may make minor changes in schedules without a sign-up. d. Regular Operators having no regular assigned runs on days when special schedules are used shall be assigned to work according to seniority, when so qualified, ahead of the extra list. e. On the day of Rose Festival Parade, Operators will be assigned a run on their same line as close to their original run as possible. In the event any Operator wishes to change his/her run for any other open run on the same line, s/he may do so by entering his/her request in Red Book. The Red Book will be closed by 10:00 AM the previous day. Requested open runs shall be assigned by Station Agents according to seniority. f. A member of the scheduling department and the Union transportation executive board officers will meet to review the sign-up prior to posting and to study and revise sign-up procedures and rules. g. A Union representative shall be present at all sign-ups to sign for employees unable to sign for themselves. The District shall pay for such attendance. h. SIGN-UPS a. If work with a ten (10) hour gap is not available, the operator will first be placed in any work with a nine and a half (9.5) hour time off, and if that is not possible on extra board for that day, based on their seniority. An operator will sign up for the same work on all the weekdays they choose and if they work on a weekend, the work’s start time and end times must give them at least ten (10) hours off. c. SIGN-UPS. (a) As hereinafter provided, all runs shall be posted for “sign-up” and shall be selected to become effective within a six (6) day period either before or after January 1, May 1, and September 1 of each year. All such sign-ups shall be system-wide permitting the Operators to select their station and runs on the basis of their Transportation Department seniority, provided they qualify on their own time. However, if the Authority establishes new routes not in existence during each sign-up, Operators may exercise their Transportation Department seniority to obtain these new runs, on these new routes, regardless of the board to which the run is assigned. Any bump-downs resulting from board change to obtain newly established routes shall be restricted to that board/selection. The Authority retains the right to experiment with any new or reinstated runs and any new swing runs or combination runs for sixty (60) days before including them in any posting or sign-up. (b) Schedules will be posted at least ten (10) days prior to sign-up date for selecting runs. However, a notice of such sign-up date will be posted at least twenty-eight (28) days prior thereto. But, in the event of any unforeseen circumstance (such as construction projects, bridge closings, reroutes, etc.), or the implementation of Transit System Review, the Authority retains the right to accelerate or delay the particular effective date of the sign-up for up to forty (40) days, but will meet with the Union beforehand to explain the need.
