The employer shall pay an employee on roster, or who provides out-of-hours cover, an availability allowance of a percentage of base salary (full-time equivalent) based on the formula specified below: In determining the level of the allowance the employer shall take into account the frequency of on-call, immediacy of required response, immediacy required for attendance at work, availability/level of competence of on duty staff, and provision of electronic aids.
