Status While on Sabbatical Leave. 1. A teacher on sabbatical leave shall be considered to be in the employ of the Board and shall have a contract. 2. A teacher on sabbatical leave will be paid the excess of the difference between the substitute's pay and the teacher's expected salary and any other full benefits provided by the Agreement currently in effect. 3. A teacher granted such leave shall advance on the salary schedule the same number of steps he or she would have advanced had he or she been on the staff while on sabbatical leave.

Status While on Sabbatical Leave. A teacher on sabbatical leave shall be considered to be in the employ of the district and shall have a contract as provided for in Kansas Statute 72-5410 et. seq. However, the leave, if granted, will be without pay. Teachers on sabbatical leave shall be entitled to participate in any and all benefits that may be provided other contracted teachers by the Board; however, it will be the obligation of the teacher to provide full payment to the District for all benefits at least one month in advance of the due date.
Status While on Sabbatical Leave a. An employee on sabbatical leave shall be considered to be in the employ of the Lansing School District and shall have a contract. However, the Lansing School District shall not be held liable for death or injury sustained by any staff member while on sabbatical leave. b. The employee shall be entitled to participate in any other benefits that may be provided for by rules and regulations of the Board. c. The employee shall be responsible for notifying the Lansing School District Human Resources Office as to the place to which the checks should be addressed during the period of sabbatical leave.

This does not, however, preclude the recipient's accepting grants, fellowships or remuneration for part-time work of any sort which does not interfere with the outlined sabbatical plan. e. Teachers shall be responsible for notifying the Payroll Department of the Western School District as to the place to which payroll checks should be addressed during the period of sabbatical leave.

The compensation for the staff member on Sabbatical Leave shall be one-half (1/2) of the salary that would be received were he/she on active staff status, not to include any pay for extra curriculum activities. The employee's insurance benefits in force at the commencement of the leave shall be continued for the duration of their sabbatical leave. 2. Payment of salary shall be made in accordance with provisions for payment of salary to other members of the professional staff. The employee shall be responsible for keeping the Business Office notified as to his/her address. 3. A semester of Sabbatical Leave shall entitle an employee to a full increment at the beginning of the school year following his/her return to service in the Utica Community Schools. 4. Regular sick leave shall apply to an employee on Sabbatical Leave. 5. Notification of accident or illness must be made by the employee to the Superintendent within ten (10) days. Upon request, evidence of such accident or illness must be provided for the Superintendent's consideration. 6. A Sabbatical Leave granted to a regular employee of the professional staff shall operate as a leave of absence without pay from all other school activities. 7. Any employee granted a leave of absence pursuant to these rules and regulations may be required to perform such services and to engage in such activities during the leave as the Superintendent of Schools, with the approval of the Board and the employee, may agree upon in writing.

(2) He or she shall be entitled to hospitalization and life insurance benefits that may be provided for by the rules and regulations of the School District. (3) The employee granted sabbatical leave shall not engage in unapproved remunerative work while on leave. Scholarships and fellowships in approved colleges and universities, which do not interfere with the program of professional improvement, are excepted. If other remunerative work is desired by the employee on leave, arrangements satisfactory to the superintendent shall be made.
Status While on Sabbatical Leave. 3.6.8.1 The individual on sabbatical leave is considered to be in the employ of the Board of Education and shall have a salary agreement. The individual on a sabbatical leave is entitled to any benefits provided by the Board of Education.
