Stewards and Union Committees. 5.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to elect or appoint one Xxxxxxx, and one alternate Xxxxxxx who shall be employees of the Company to deal with matters affecting employees in the bargaining unit. A list of these Stewards shall be supplied to the Company and any changes that may occur from time to time.

Stewards and Union Committees. 5.1 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select from the Union membership a Plant Chairperson whose name will be supplied to the Company. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select from the Union membership, stewards, who will comprise a plant committee one of which will be the Chief Xxxxxxx who will be the Chairman of the said Committee. The Company will recognize the said Committee for the purpose of handling any grievance arising out of the administration of this collective agreement. 5.2 A list of the Stewards appointed, or otherwise selected shall be supplied to the Company. The Company shall be advised immediately by the Union, in writing, of any change to this list. The Union will be informed promptly of other than temporary changes in supervision. 5.3 The Company recognizes and agrees that the Chief Xxxxxxx, Department Xxxxxxx, or Plant Chairperson (Health and Safety Committee) are required from time to time to investigate and process grievances or discuss with Supervisors other matters affecting employees. When it becomes necessary for the Chief Xxxxxxx, Department Xxxxxxx, or the Plant Chairperson to leave his/her job during working hours to attend these matters, they will give Supervisors as much advance notice as possible, at which time Supervision will make arrangements for the person to be relieved within one hour after receiving such notice. The person must advise his/her Supervisor as to what the general nature of business is and how much time they require. The Union agrees that there will not normally be duplications of duties or responsibilities of its stewards and officers, however, it is recognized that there may be times when, because of circumstances, the Union or the Company may deem it necessary to have more than one representative attend to the matter. The person must inform the appropriate Supervisor of the department into which he is entering. 5.4 If an employee is being interviewed during the course of an investigation, where the matter being discussed could lead to discipline, the employee may request the presence of a Xxxxxxx. 5.5 The Company recognizes and agrees that each department and shift will elect or appoint a Xxxxxxx, the departments are as follows:

Stewards and Union Committees. 5.1 The Company agrees to recognize a Plant Chairperson who must be a full-time employee with seniority. The Company also agrees to recognize one xxxxxxx, who must be a full-time employee with seniority, in each of the following departments and on each of the specified shifts:

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards. The Xxxxxxx shall assist any Employee, which the Xxxxxxx represents, in preparing and presenting her grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

  • LABOR/MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES A. Statewide

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy. Release time must be arranged with supervisors in advance. When the committee makes a recommendation that requires action or approval beyond its scope of authority, the Employer will communicate its disposition of the formal written recommendation within thirty (30) days.

  • Labour Management Relations Committee In recognition of the mutual benefits of open communications and on-going consultation between the faculty and the employer, the Labour/Management Relations Committee will meet on a regular basis and have equal representation for the Union and the Employer. The LMRC will serve as an open forum for the free and candid discussion of matters of mutual concern to faculty members and management.

  • Sub-Committees 15.1 The Joint Committee shall establish the membership and terms of reference for any sub-committees or sub-groups which it establishes and may dissolve such sub-committees or sub-groups. Sub-committees to which the Joint Committee delegates functions are bound by the provisions of this Agreement regulating the taking of decisions by the Joint Committee. The Joint Committee may create additional sub-committees from time to time as it sees fit.

  • Committees The Parties agree on establishing Committees in the following matters: (a) Trade in Goods; (b) Trade in Services; (c) Investment; (d) Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures; (e) Technical Barriers to Trade; (f) Trade Facilitation; (g) Rules of Origin; and (h) Cooperation, including Intellectual Property. 2. The Free Trade Commission may create additional Committees, if needed. The Committees on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Technical Barriers to Trade and Rules of Origin shall coordinate their tasks with those of the Committee on Trade in Goods.

  • Bargaining Committee A bargaining committee of no more than three (3) employees and one (1) alternate may be selected by the Union.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.

  • Union Committee ‌ The Union shall appoint and maintain a Committee comprising persons who are employees of the Employer, and/or the Senior Union Official, or her/his representative, which shall be known as the Union Committee. The Union at all times shall keep the Employer informed of the individual membership of the Committee.
