Student Eligibility Requirements a. A high school student is eligible to enroll in dual credit courses if the student:
i. demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards under the provisions of the Texas Success Initiative (“TSI”) as set forth in the Texas Administrative Code and
ii. demonstrates that the student is exempt under the provisions of the TSI.
b. A high school student is also eligible to enroll in academic and or Level 2 workforce dual credit courses through the demonstration of TSI college readiness in reading, writing, and or mathematics by achieving the minimum score as set forth in the Texas Administrative Code.
c. All students enrolled in secondary public, private, and home school are required to demonstrate college readiness.
d. Students must meet all of College’s regular prerequisite requirements designated for that course.
e. Students must maintain a “C” or better to continue enrollment in the dual credit program.
Student Eligibility Requirements a. A high school student is eligible to enroll in dual credit courses if the student:
i. Demonstrates college readiness by achieving the Texas Success Initiative (“TSI”) minimum passing standards as set forth in 19 Texas Administrative Code § 4.57 on relevant assessment instrument section(s) approved by the THECB in 19 Texas Administrative Code § 4.56, or
ii. Demonstrates that the student is exempt under the TSI provisions as set forth in 19 Texas Administrative Code § 4.54.
b. A high school student is also eligible to enroll in academic and or Level II workforce dual credit courses if they achieve the minimum score for TSI college readiness in reading, writing, and or mathematics as set forth in 19 Texas Administrative Code § 4.85 on other approved assessments for dual credit student eligibility requirement.
c. A high school is eligible to enroll in workforce education dual credit courses in a postsecondary Level I certificate program, or a program leading to a credential of less than a Level I certificate, at a public junior college or public technical institution and shall not be required to demonstrate college readiness or dual credit enrollment eligibility.
d. All students enrolled in secondary public (accredited or non-accredited), private, or home school are required to demonstrate college readiness, demonstrate a TSI-allowed exemption, or submit another approved dual credit eligibility assessment.
e. Students must meet all regular College prerequisite requirements designated for that course.
f. Students must maintain a “C” or better to continue dual credit program enrollment.
Student Eligibility Requirements a. To be eligible for dual credit enrollment at College of the Mainland, the high school student must meet all requirements for standard admission to the College as outlined in the College’s current College Catalog, as well as other requirements that may be imposed by the School District. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
i. Submission of a completed Application for Admission to the College.
ii. Submission of proof of Bacterial Meningitis vaccination within the past five years, when classes are held on any College of the Mainland campus or online.
iii. Completion of applicable Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment is required prior to enrolling in all academic dual credit classes. Dual Credit Academy Level One Certificates are exempt from TSI Assessment. Policies regarding TSI Assessment, exemptions or waivers are outlined in the current College of the Mainland’s Dual Credit Manual that shall be distributed to the School District.
iv. Successful completion of established prerequisites for any College of the Mainland course as listed in the course description found in the current College Catalog.
v. Submission of a completed Dual Credit Enrollment Form with School District approval and approval by the high school student’s parent/legal guardian before or at the time of course registration.
vi. Payment of the costs associated with taking a college course(s) as established by the College.
b. The student must be classified by the School District as a high school student (9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grades).
c. College of the Mainland cannot limit the number of dual credit courses a high school student enrolls in each semester, although the class load of a high school student is typically two college courses per semester.
d. Student must attend Dual Credit Orientation with COM prior to the start of classes.
Student Eligibility Requirements. In admitting or enrolling high school students in a course offered for joint high school and junior college credit, a public junior college must apply the same criteria and conditions to each student wishing to enroll in the course without regard to whether the student attends a public school or a private or parochial school, including a home school. For purposes of this section, a student who attends a school that is not formally organized as a high school and is at least 16 years of age is considered to be attending a high school. To be eligible for enrollment in a dual credit course offered by a public college, students must meet all the college's regular prerequisite requirements designated for that course (e.g., minimum score on a specified placement test, minimum grade in a specified previous course, etc.). A high school student is eligible to enroll in academic dual credit courses if the student: Demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards under the provisions of the TSI [see EI] on relevant section(s) of an assessment instrument approved by the Coordinating Board; or Demonstrates that he or she is exempt under the provisions of the TSI. A high school student is also eligible to enroll in academic dual credit courses that require demonstration of TSI college readiness in reading, writing, and/or mathematics under any of the following conditions: Courses that require demonstration of TSI college readiness in reading and/or writing: If the student achieves a Level 2 final recommended score, as defined by TEA, on the English II State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness End of Course (STAAR EOC); or If the student achieves one of the following scores on the PSAT/NMSQT (mixing or combining scores from the PSAT/NMSQT administered prior to October 15, 2015, and the PSAT/NMSQT administered on or after October 15, 2015, is not allowable): A combined score of 107 with a minimum of 50 on the reading test on a PSAT/NMSQT exam administered prior to October 15, 2015; or A score of 460 on the evidence-based reading and writing (EBRW) test on a PSAT/NMSQT exam administered on or after October 15, 2015; or If the student achieves a composite score of 23 on the PLAN with a 19 or higher in English or an English score of 435 on the ACT-Aspire. Courses that require demonstration of TSI college readiness in mathematics: If the student achieves a minimum score of 4000, on the Algebra I STAAR EOC and passing grade in the Algebra II...
Student Eligibility Requirements. Students enrolled within the School District may be eligible to participate in dual credit/early admission classes at Galveston College based of the following conditions:
1. A high school student who seeks to enroll in an academic course(s), a transfer course(s), or courses leading to an Associate Degree may be admitted if the student:
a. Demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards under the provisions of the Texas Success Initiative on relevant section(s) of an assessment instrument approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), or
b. Demonstrates that he or she is exempt under the provisions of the Texas Success Initiative.
2. An high school student is also eligible to enroll in dual credit courses under the following conditions:
a. The student achieves score of 480 on evidenced-based reading and writing (EBRW) and 530 on mathematics (no combined score is required).
b. The student achieves a composite score of 23 on the ACT with a 19 or higher in mathematics and English;
c. The student TSI Assessment scores 350 or higher in mathematics and reading scores of 351 or higher plus writing score of at least 4 on the essay with 340 or higher on the objective part.
d. The student achieves on the STAAR end-of-course (EOC) exams a minimum score of 2000 on the English II end of course exam and a minimum score of 4000 on the Algebra I end of course exam with successful completion of high school Algebra II.
e. Demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards under the provisions of the Texas Success Initiative on relevant section(s) of any other assessment instrument approved by the THECB.
3. A high school student is eligible to enroll in workforce education dual credit or concurrent enrollment classes if the student demonstrates that he or she has achieved the minimum high school-level competencies in the areas of Mathematics and/or English/Language Arts as required for entry into the workforce program.
a. A student may enroll only in those workforce-education dual credit courses for which the student has demonstrated eligibility.
b. A student who is exempt from taking an exit-level test may be otherwise evaluated by the College to determine eligibility for enrolling in a workforce- education dual credit course(s).

Student Eligibility Requirements. Students enrolled at GISD may be eligible to participate in dual credit/early admission classes at the College based of the following conditions:
1. A high school student who seeks to enroll in an academic course(s), a transfer course(s), or courses leading to an Associate Degree may be admitted if the student:
a. Demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards under the provisions of the Texas Success Initiative on relevant section(s) of an assessment instrument approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), or
b. Demonstrates that he or she is exempt under the provisions of the Texas Success Initiative.
2. A high school student is eligible to enroll in workforce education dual credit classes if the student demonstrates that he or she has achieved the minimum high school-level competencies in the areas of Mathematics and/or English/Language Arts as required for entry into the workforce program.
a. A student may enroll only in those workforce-education dual credit courses for which the student has demonstrated eligibility.
b. A student who is exempt from taking an exit-level test may be otherwise evaluated by the College to determine eligibility for enrolling in a workforce-education dual credit course(s).
3. A student who has been enrolled in a non-traditional program of study (i.e., a home school or a non-accredited high school) and who is now enrolled within GISD must satisfy paragraphs 1, 2, or 3 of these subsections.
4. To be eligible for enrollment in a dual credit course offered by the College, a student must meet all of the College’s regular prerequisite requirements designated for that course (e.g., minimum score on a specified placement test, minimum grade in a specified previous course, etc,.).
5. In the case of certain emergencies such as hurricane, pandemic or other forced closures and the previously mentioned measurements are not available, both the College and GISD will employ holistic advising to ensure proper student eligibility.
Student Eligibility Requirements. To be eligible for enrollment in a dual credit course, a student who is enrolled in a public, private, or non-accredited secondary school or who is home-schooled must:
1. attain freshman year high school standing.
2. meet all the college’s regular prerequisite requirements designated for the course (e.g., minimum score placement test scores, minimum grade in a specified previous course, etc.).
3. exhibit and maintain the level of intellectual, personal, and social maturity associated with college-level coursework.
4. participate in adult/college level class discussions that may include controversial issues or subject matter.
5. expect to invest at least as much time out of class as in class reading, studying, and completing assignments. Further, to be eligible for enrollment in a dual credit course for which college readiness assessment is required, the student must present a passing score on a Board-approved college readiness assessment instrument in the area or areas deemed relevant by the college for the intended dual credit course in which the student shall enroll. WC recommends demonstration of college-level reading proficiency for all transfer-intended college courses. WC requires demonstration of college-level reading proficiency for the following courses: ENGL 1301, ENGL 1302, all 2000-level ENGL classes, HIST 1301, HIST 1302, all 2000-level HIST classes, GOVT 2305, GOVT 2306, PHIL 1301, and PHIL 2306. WC requires demonstration of college-level writing proficiency for the following: ENGL 1301, ENGL 1302, and all 2000-level ENGL classes. WC requires demonstration of college-level mathematics proficiency for the following courses: all MATH at the 1000 or higher level; BIOL 1406, BIOL 1407, CHEM 1411, PHYS 1401, ACCT 2301.
1. Appropriate scores on any of the following approved tests may be used, depending on grade level: PSAT, SAT/ACT, STAAR EOC, and TSI Assessment.
2. The testing standards are: ▪ PSAT: a score of 460 on the evidence-based reading and writing (EBRW); a score of 510 on the mathematics. ▪ ACT: composite score of 23 with 19 on English AND Math. ▪ SAT: composite scores of 1070 (critical thinking + math) with 500 on critical reading AND Math. ▪ STAAR End of Course (EOC) for Dual Credit eligibility: score of 4000 on English II, a score of 4000 on Algebra I and a passing grade in the Algebra II course. ▪ TSI Assessment standards: Reading 351; Writing 5 on the essay or 4 on the essay with a score of 340 on multiple choice; Math 350 or higher....
Student Eligibility Requirements. The eligibility requirements (basic skills prerequisites, college credit prerequisites and assessment placement score requirements) for enrollment in the subject are:
Student Eligibility Requirements a. A high school student is eligible to enroll in dual credit courses in the eleventh and/or twelfth grade if the student:
i. demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards under the provisions of the Texas Success Initiative (“TSI”) as set forth in the Texas Administrative Code
ii. demonstrates that he or she is exempt under the provisions of the TSI
b. Students must meet all of LSCS’s regular prerequisite requirements designated for that course.
c. Students must have at least junior year high school standing.
i. Exceptions to this requirement for students with demonstrated outstanding academic performance and capability may be approved by the principal of the high school and the chief academic officer of LSCS.
d. High school students shall not be enrolled in more than two dual credit courses per semester.
i. Exceptions to this requirement for students with demonstrated outstanding academic performance and capability may be approved by the principal of the high school and the chief academic officer of LSCS to a maximum of 15 semester credit hours.
ii. Students enrolling in more than two dual credit courses in a semester must pass all courses during that semester with a grade of C or better to continue to enroll in more than two dual credit courses in following semesters.
Student Eligibility Requirements. Any child eligible for free Pre-Kindergarten under Texas Education Code Section 29.153, who lives within the ISD boundary, shall be eligible to be served by the Provider. Once a Pre-Kindergarten child is enrolled, then the compulsory attendance laws apply to that child. The Provider will notify ISD if an enrolled student’s unexcused absences exceed the number allowed by law so that proper notices can be provided and proper procedures may be followed. In the event a student drops out of Provider’s school, Provider shall provide notice to ISD.
