TEACHER TRAVEL. 21.1 Unit Members who are assigned to more than one (1) school shall be given reasonable notice if there is to be a change to their schedule.
21.2 Unit Members who are required to use their own automobile in the performance of their duties and employees who are assigned to more than one (1) school per day shall be reimbursed for all such travel at the District’s current mileage rate for all driving done between the arrival at the first location and other work locations during that day.
21.3 Unit Members who use their personal cars for District-approved field trips or other approved business of the District shall receive the benefits provided in paragraph above.
21.4 Travel assignments shall be made based on the educational needs of the District.
21.5 Unit members who are required to travel between sites shall be provided adequate travel time.
TEACHER TRAVEL. A. TEACHER TRAVEL
1. Multi-site assignments will be made only after consultation with the unit member involved.
2. Mileage is authorized when a school vehicle is not available for a unit member assigned to more than one site on a regular basis. Mileage allowed is computed from the base assignment to any alternate assignment.
TEACHER TRAVEL. 17.1 Full-time employees who travel shall be provided a duty-free lunch period and a preparation period (where applicable).
17.2 Schedules of employees who are assigned to more than one (1) school shall be arranged so that no such employee shall be required to engage in an unreasonable amount of inter- school travel. Such employees shall be notified of any changes in their schedules at least two (2) weeks before such changes are implemented.
17.3 Employees who may be required to use their own vehicles in the performance of their duties and employees who are assigned more than one (1) school per day shall receive a flat mileage allowance at the IRS allowable rate per mile.
TEACHER TRAVEL. A Employees shall be advised that they should not transport students in private automobiles when involved in school activities. However, employees who are authorized or required by the District may use their automobiles for school business and shall receive the established District rate per mile. B Travel assignments shall be made to meet the educational needs of the District.
TEACHER TRAVEL. 17.1 Certificated employees who travel for purposes approved by the District shall be reimbursed for travel expenses, including but not limited to use of personal vehicle and meals, at the rate of current IRS standing business travel expenses deduction. Certificated employees will follow Board Policy AR 3350.
TEACHER TRAVEL. A. Prior to traveling on District business, employees shall submit written request for approval of such travel. The Superintendent must approve trips out of the county. The site administrator may approve trips inside the county.
B. Employees (including those listed in Exhibit B) who use their automobiles for District business shall be reimbursed for such travel at the highest rate approved by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service without attribution to income, providing all of the following conditions are met:
1. The automobile used is owned by the employee;
2. The automobile is used in the performance of regularly assigned duties;
3. Automobiles must be equipped with one seat belt for each passenger;
4. No appropriate District vehicle was available;
5. The employee was given prior approval for the use of his/her automobile by his/her immediate supervisor; and
6. The driver and automobile are insured.

Teachers who are required to use their own automobiles in performance of their duties and teachers who are assigned to more than one (1) school per day, shall be reimbursed for all such travel at the IRS allowed rate in effect on the first day of school for all driving done between arrival at the first location at the beginning of their workday and the location at the completion of their work day.
B. Employees shall not be required to utilize their personal cars for the transportation of students.
TEACHER TRAVEL. A. Teachers who may be requested to use their own automobiles in the performance of their duties shall be reimbursed for all such travel at the rate approved by the board for all driving done between arrival at the first location at the beginning of their work day; provided, however, that if the distance from the teacher’s home to his/her first location or from the teacher’s last location to his/her home is greater than the distance between the teacher’s home and his/her base school, he/she shall be reimbursed from the difference at the rate of pay approved by the board.
B. A teacher shall obtain written permission from the District Superintendent to take students on a field trip or to take students home after a school activity and to transport such students in any personal automobile. Written permission shall mean that the trip is a school sponsored activity.
1. The employee is responsible for primary insurance coverage and the District is responsible for secondary coverage.
2. The employee should contact their own insurance provider for specific information as to primary coverage before transporting students.
3. The District will provide secondary liability coverage for any personal injuries or deaths or damage to personal or real property arising during the course of each trip.
TEACHER TRAVEL. Teachers whose duties require travel between schools are authorized reimbursement for automobile use pursuant to Florida Statute and current School Board policy.
