Tenure Procedure. When a member applies for tenure pursuant to or shall supply the a copy of his/her current curriculum vitae; copies of the written information given to students pursuant to Article for all courses taught by the candidate during the probationary period; a copy of those materials the candidate wishes to use as evidence of of his/her leaching responsibilities; a copy of those materials which the candidate wishes to use as evidence of of his/her research and other scholarly activities; and, any other information which the candidate feels would aid his/her case. The President shall assemble an information file for each candidate containing the candidate’s letter of appointment, a copy of the Presidents letter to the candidate pursuant to Article the materials described in and shall make this file accessible to all Promotion, Tenure, and Renewal Committee members. When the President believes that confidential materials from the member’s official file should be used, the member shall be given a typed copy of any such confidential materials, edited to remove statements that could identify the author and without the author being The Committee shall have the same copy and shall know the identity of the author. The immediate supervisor of a candidate for tenure shall make the candidate’s information file available to faculty members in the candidate’s School or Department or Faculty and shall solicit from each full-lime faculty member in the Department or School or Faculty other than the candidate and immediate supervisor a signed, written opinion on the tenure, impressing upon the members the need to relate opinions and comments to the criteria for tenure pursuant lo the Faculty Employment Equity Policy, and to any formal departmental criteria which are not inconsistent with this Agreement. In cases in which the candidate holds a joint appointment, the immediate supervisor of the candidate’s principal School or Department or Faculty shall make the candidate’s information available to and shall solicit signed, written opinions from each full-lime faculty member and the Director or Chair or ▇▇▇▇ in the candidate’s secondary School or Department or Faculty. The opinion shall be on a standard form providing for (A) a simple statement that the full-time faculty member does or does not support the tenure, and comments by which the member provides a reasoned basis for supporting or not supporting the application for tenure. Tenure Procedure. 1. After fulfilling two (2) complete academic years of full-time service at COTC as a probationary tenure-track faculty member and at the beginning of the third year, the faculty person shall request that the Tenure Committee determine the extent to which he/she is meeting the criteria for tenure at Central Ohio Technical College.
2. The Tenure Committee shall put such determinations/recommendations in writing for the faculty member by the end of the second teaching semester of the third year; such determinations/recommendations shall be included at the time of the sixth year review.
3. After the provisions of section E.2 above have been complied with, guidelines for tenure for any specific candidate shall not be altered.
4. At the beginning of the sixth year of full-time service at COTC, the faculty member shall submit his/her tenure file for review and evaluation by the Tenure Committee.
5. The file, along with the recommendations of the Tenure Committee, shall be forwarded to the appropriate designated administrator, and to the President of COTC, who each make recommendations.
6. The recommendation of the President of the College is forwarded to the Board of Trustees, which makes the decision on granting tenure.
7. If tenure is not granted, the faculty member may be offered only one additional one-year contract.
Tenure Procedure. 22.1.1 Tenure has been provided for Hillsborough County teachers by legislative act.
22.1.2 To be eligible for tenure and to remain on tenure, the teacher shall have a regular valid Florida teacher certificate.
22.1.3 New teachers shall have completed three consecutive years of teaching in Hillsborough County and shall have received a fourth appointment without reservation. A teacher who has previously held continuing contract in any county in this state shall serve a probationary period of two consecutive years, and shall have received a third appointment without reservation.
22.1.4 When an administrator has reservations concerning a probationary teacher’s performance, prior to granting tenure, said teacher may be required to serve a fourth year of probation. Reasons shall be given in writing to the teacher and a copy submitted to the Division of Human Resources with the recommendation for renomination to a fourth probationary year on annual contract.
22.1.5 A teacher who is promoted to a higher position or transfers to a position other than classroom teaching may qualify for tenure in the new position.
22.1.6 A teacher may earn tenure in any of the positions included in the teacher bargaining unit.
22.1.7 A tenure teacher may be employed into a temporary appointment.
22.1.8 Non-tenured teachers who are employed in a temporary position of a year or more duration shall be credited with that time for purposes of tenure.
22.1.9 A copy of the tenure law shall be placed in each work location.

Tenure Procedure. (i) The Candidate shall prepare a dossier containing supporting information on teaching (See Article 11.12), scholarship, and service. A copy of all annual appraisals made during the probationary period shall be included in the dossier. The dossier will normally be completed during the forty-eight (48) months following the Candidate=s appointment, unless the candidate requests and is granted a twelve (12) month deferral (see Article 11.07 (b) (ii)). The candidate may submit the dossier to the Department Head and may request the initiation of the tenure process.
(ii) The tenure process shall be initiated by the Candidate=s Department Head no later than forty-eight (48) months after the appointment or earlier, as described in Article 11.05 (a) (i) by notifying the PTC that the Candidate must be considered for tenure. The process may be deferred for one year, by request of the Candidate to the President. This deferral may be granted at the President=s discretion. Deferral must be requested, and the decision made, before the end of the forty-
(iii) The Department Head shall request the Candidate’s dossier.
(iv) The Department Head solicits opinions, in written form, of the tenured faculty members, in the Department, as to the suitability of the Candidate for tenure, and prepares a written summary of these opinions and provides a definitive recommendation of the Candidate=s suitability for tenure. This assessment is made available to the Candidate, who may make a written response. This material is added to the dossier and forwarded to the Promotion and Tenure Committee not more than three (3) months after the application is initiated. Candidates applying prior to forty-eight (48) months may withdraw the application at this point.
(v) The PTC shall study the dossier submitted by the Department Head. It shall consider no anonymous material.
(vi) Following such study, the PTC may meet jointly with the Candidate and Department Head. The purpose of the meeting is to initiate discussion and to provide opportunity for both the Candidate and the Department Head to present their positions with respect to tenure.
(vii) In arriving at a decision, the PTC shall consider only the material made available in Article 11.07 (b) (v), unless the candidate has been given the opportunity to address the additional material.
(viii) The PTC makes a written recommendation to award or deny tenure, which is added to the dossier and forwarded to the President no later than six (6) months ...
