Positions Included. Promotional positions are defined as follows: Positions paying a salary differential and/or positions on the administrator-supervisory levels of responsibility including but not limited to positions as principal. All vacancies in promotional positions, including specialists and/or special project teachers, pupil personnel workers and positions in programs funded by the Federal government shall be adequately publicized by the Superintendent in accordance with the following procedure:

The Grand Haven Area Public Schools Board of Education recognizes the Grand Haven Area Public Schools Administrators Association in accordance with the applicable provisions of Act #379, P.A. of 1965, as amended, as the sole and exclusive representative for all administrative personnel in the classifications of High School Principal, Middle School Principal, Elementary Principal, Assistant High School Principal, Assistant Middle School Principal, Athletics Director, Special Education Director, and hereinafter called the bargaining unit.

In accordance with all applicable provisions of Act 379 of the Public Acts of 1965, as amended, the Employer does hereby recognize the Association as the exclusive representative for the purpose of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment for the term of this Agreement of all full-time and part-time grounds workers, bus drivers and bus attendants working on special education runs and field trips, mechanics, transportation garage assistants excluding positions of irregular part-time work, Head Transportation supervisors, bus drivers and bus attendants working on general education runs and field trips, substitutes and all others.
Positions Included. The Board recognizes the Association as the Exclusive Representative of regular full-time and part-time certificated employees of the District, excluding positions described in 2.2 below, and including, but not limited to, the following:
2.1.1 Classroom teachers, including teachers on temporary contracts;
2.1.2 Librarians;
2.1.3 Counselors, Academic Case Carriers;
2.1.4 Speech Therapists;
2.1.5 Psychologists;
2.1.6 School Nurse;
2.1.7 Full-Time Teacher on Assignment – District;
2.1.8 Full-Time Teacher on Assignment – Site;
2.1.9 School Site Coordinators;
Positions Included. Announcement of all vacancies within the system shall be posted before said vacancies are filled. Qualifications for such positions, the duties and rate of compensation shall be clearly set forth. A copy of said announcement shall be forwarded to Association President at time of posting.
Positions Included. The representation unit is comprised of the positions listed in Appendix A-2, and excluding all other positions not specifically enumerated.

Included, but not limited to, positions as Athletic Director, Area Supervisors, Guidance Counselor, Library/Media Specialist, Athletic Trainer, Coordinators, Vice Principal, Principal and Superintendent. All vacancies in promotional positions and/or newly created positions, including specialists and/or special projects teachers, pupil personnel workers and positions in programs which are funded by the state or federal government and all positions which are additionally compensated by the Board, shall be adequately publicized by the Superintendent in accordance with the following procedure:
1. When school is in session, a notice shall be posted at the sign-in books as far in advance as practicable, ordinarily at least ten (10) school days before the final date by which applications must be submitted and in no event less than five (5) school days before such date. A copy of said notice shall be given to the Association at the time of posting.
2. Teachers who desire to apply for any such vacancy shall submit their applications in writing to the Superintendent within the time limit specified in the notice posted by the Superintendent and the Superintendent shall acknowledge receipt of all such applications, in writing, within five (5) days of his receipt thereof.
3. During July and August, the Superintendent shall notify the President of the Association or his designee of vacancies arising in promotional positions.
Positions Included. Promotional positions are defined as follows: When school is in session, a notice shall be posted as far in advance as practical. Employees who desire to apply for a promotional position which may be filled during the summer period when school is not regularly in session shall submit their names to the Chief School Administrator together with the positions for which they desire to apply, and an address where they can be reached during the summer.
Positions Included. All regular full-time and regular part-time classified employees who are within the classified service are members of the Unit.
