Terminal Sick Leave. All full time personnel employed on or after January 1, 1999 will be eligible for terminal sick leave payment for up to one-fourth of unused sick days at the time of termination with a maximum of sixty (60) days providing such personnel have completed at least three (3) years of full time college service. All other bargaining unit members who terminate, except for personnel who are discharged for cause, will be eligible to receive payment for accumulated sick leave based upon the following amounts: (1) After completion of three (3) years of continuous full-time college service until the completion of six (6) years of service, an amount equal to 40 percent of the employee’s daily salary times the number of accumulated sick leave days at the time of termination. (2) After the completion of six (6) years of continuous full-time service, until the completion of nine (9) years of service, an amount equal to 45 percent of the employee’s daily salary times the number of accumulated sick leave at the time of termination. (3) After the completion of nine (9) years of continuous full-time service, an amount equal to 50 percent of the employee’s daily salary times the number of days of accumulated sick leave at the time of termination plus 2.5 percent per year for each additional year of college service up to a maximum accumulation of 100 percent. Such accumulated sick leave may be transferred to another Florida community college, the Florida Department of Education, the Florida University System or a Florida District school board in lieu of receiving the payment indicated above. If service of such a bargaining unit member is terminated by death, the employee’s beneficiary as designated by the employee for retirement purposes will receive such terminal sick leave payment.

Terminal Sick Leave. 1. At the employee=s option and upon written request by the employee at the time of separation, the Board shall provide terminal pay to any teacher upon the teacher's non-disciplinary separation from school district employment or enrollment in DROP, or to the teacher's beneficiary if service is terminated by death. Such terminal pay shall not exceed one hundred twenty (120) days, and shall be established as outlined below. 2. Employees hired after November 19, 2002 shall be eligible for terminal pay as defined under this policy upon completion of three consecutive years of service in Clay County. For employees hired prior to November 19, 2002, Clay County service requirements shown in paragraph J. 3(a) through J. 3 (e) need not be consecutive. 3. For the purposes of determining eligibility for terminal pay, a year of service shall be defined as: paid service rendered in a .6 or greater allocation for a minimum of one day more that half the normal working contract in the fiscal year, provided that eligibility during the first three Clay years shall be based on the anniversary of the initial date of hire. Terminal pay shall be based on the years of service in Clay County. The employee must have been: a. Employed as a teacher for at least three (3) years in Clay County, in which case the terminal pay shall be at the rate of 35% times the number of days of accumulated sick leave times the daily rate of pay, not to exceed a total of one hundred twenty (120) days, or b. Employed as a teacher for more than three (3) years but not more than six (6) years in Clay County, in which case the terminal pay shall be at the rate of 40% time the number of days accumulated sick leave times the daily rate of pay, not to exceed a total of one hundred twenty (120) days, or c. Employed as a teacher for more than six (6) years but not more than nine (9) years in Clay County, in which case the terminal pay shall be at the rate of 45% times the number of days of accumulated sick leave times the daily rate of pay, not to exceed a total of one hundred twenty (120) days, or d.   • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Cumulative Sick Leave The normal cumulative sick leave allowance each year shall be ten (10) days for employees on thirty-eight (38) through forty-two (42) week assignments. Teachers on eleven (11) and twelve (12) month assignments shall receive one (1) day per month up to a maximum of twelve (12) days each year. A teacher shall be permitted to carry forward the unused portion of sick leave without limit. The balance of accumulated sick leave shall be printed on the teacher's bi-weekly statement of earnings.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.
